With so many visitors on campus past weekend I felt like some of the notes on them got buried under comments and Tweets pasted on board. So wanted to make a note on where UF stands with some of these visitors and what I am hearing overall.
* K'Lavon Chaisson: Bumped his planned visit to USC last weekend in favor of a trip to Florida. He left very early Sunday and didn't get to hang out at Coach Mac's house with the rest of the visitors. His father knew Kerry Dixon growing up in the Houston area. However, we hear the Gators have very little shot here, with Texas being the likely pick and LSU right there in the picture. I called him for an interview after his visit and he said he won't be talking to anyone. Again I highly doubt this kid comes to Florida, I know there were some people at UF who didn't even know why the kid came down because he was never going to sign with the Gators.
* Breyon and Brandon Gaddy: They had a great time on their visit and left saying they have a final decision to make on NSD. I have not been directly told anything from anyone at Florida about their academics, but the buzz out there is they are both takes. I will be keeping a close watch to see if anything changes there next few days.
* Charleston Rambo: Had a good time with his dad, said he is still keeping his options open despite being solid to Oklahoma. From what I have gathered I'd be surprised if he flips.
* Devonte Wyatt: His coach told me this morning the trip to Florida made his final decision that much harder. I still continue to hear South Carolina is the team in the best spot to flip him. The Gamecocks feel like they are getting him. Florida does feel like they are in this one though.
* Brian Edwards: He really loved his visit to Florida, and has given strong indications that he wants to be a Gator. However, he also told Miami that he was leaning their way. With that being said, the trip to Florida has tipped the scales. It is really really looking good for UF barring any late changes.
* Brad Stewart: He was gong to wait to NSD to make his commitment but the staff convinced him to let it be known now since UF has been here he's wanted to go since the summer. This is a dude the staff LOVED and since he has been counted on as being part of the class for so long, how important a get this is might be lost on some, but he is a great get for the Gators.
* Tre Brown: He visited with his dad after getting a offer this past week. I have-not heard much about the trip, but I am sure he liked it (every kid likes every visit they take). I have been told that he spoke with Oklahoma staff last night after returning home and the Sooners would be really surprised if he left their class. Don't think at this point he's a guy UF needs. UF wanted to take 5 DB's and have four now and look good for Edwards.
* Donovan Stiner: He flipped after the visit. Posted in the visitor thread I felt that would get done after he talked to mom and dad. He ended up flipping as soon as that conversation happened.
* Adarius Lemons: He has made a lot of progress with his academics. Florida should know on NSD if they will be taking him. Sounds like he's getting an LOI though.
* Lacedrick Brunson: He left campus with Florida in the lead. He's committing on NSD and he really wants to be a Gator and I think he will be. I was last told this a.m. UF would take him.
* LaBryan Ray: This is the big fish that Florida had on campus this past weekend. He has some family in the Gainesville area (aunt and uncle). Florida feels the visit went well, Ray said in his interview the staff is telling him to "be different". I think it's going to be tough to pull him away from Alabama, but will be trying to keep my hand on the pulse of this recruitment next two days.
* Abule Abadi-Fitzgerald: The new name to the board took a Sunday official visit. It sounds like Florida would have to miss out some guys at other positions to give him the green light.
* Malik Young: He was on a midweek official visit - starting Thursday and ending Saturday morning. He was at Mizzou this past weekend, and the buzz is pointing to him ending up there. He also has a teammate committed to Mizzou as well.
* Another note on a kid that didn't visit last weekend dis DT Elijah Conliffe. He will be making his commitment around 3:30 tomorrow afternoon. I expect him to be heading to Florida.
