1) Fuente
2) Frost
3) Norvell

It has to be a young offensive minded energetic coach that runs a spread/open up type of offense to best utilize the athletes that you recruit in your own back yard.

The coach will need to be given lots of money to hire a good staff but more importantly a top notch DC.

Worst case scenario we will end up with Norvell and I would be more than happy with that scenario as long as you get a top notch DC.

At this time I believe these are the top 3 candidates. We won't go past Norvell.

Fuente should be everyone’s first choice, I just don’t think it’s realistic. I fear Frost would bolt for the cornfields if the pressure got to exhausting at UF.

Initially Frost was my number one choice, but we don’t need a coach who doesn’t think of UF as his dream job. Just like Meyer’s dream job was reportedly OSU, I fear that Frost may take the UF job with his mind really being in Lincoln!

And if his heart starts to give him issues:)rolleyes:) 3 years into the job, I’ll bet money that Nebraska would be his next stop.

And we'll need to give them a secure contract with a hefty buyout to entice them. Because this is a 4-5 year rebuild. Recruiting on both lines of scrimmage have been trash and we still don't have a QB. Even assuming Corral sticks and is the real deal it'll be 2 years minimum before he's ready, and by then Mac's shitty recruiting will be catching up to us.

His dream job was Notre Dame.

Still is.

Don’t be surprised when he ends up there whenever they get sick of Kelly.

Paco, is that your order or what you are hearing?

Norvell scares me a little with mediocre defense (which I realize is common at the second tier schools) but more than that I worry he is a Butch Jones living off of Fuente’s success like Butch did with Brian Kelly at Cincy and CMU

Even if that were true Norvell was a highly successful coordinator who was sought out for big OC jobs before he finally became a HC, that's never been the case for Butch. Don't think he's ever even been a coordinator.

Memphis defense has a ton of young players. Not there yet but if no changes in Memphis, that defense will be significantly better by next season, and they have played better often this season, although no question, it is not strong relative to others in college football.

A Florida level of athlete, still ahead of a Memphis, with a solid coordinator, would do just fine.

Yes, make a call to Fuente first. If for no other reason than he has proven it longer, regardless of what happens tonight with Miami. A complete renovation project in Memphis that went from bottom ten in college football to very good with a few years. Then continuing at Tech, doing much better than Beamer was at the end. Four years of success, and really six years as Memphis was so bad when he got there, beats Frost or Norvell in terms of calming nerves.

And would think Fuente would say no thanks but see if he would leave a great spot like Tech for a top ten program like Florida.

What I'm hearing but with that being said there isn't a lot of information coming out of the UAA right now. Trying to decipher through things.
