Some good life lessons to be learned from their examples.

The Lord of NO Rings/Human Rain Delay: finished with a record of 76-77 against UF. No national championships, had to watch UF win a national championship on his third-to-last season. Finished with an 11-game losing streak to the Gators and lost 24 of the last 29 games to UF. Coached until the age of 75 chasing an elusive NC that would never come. Has a field named after him (04/02/2005) and went 6-10 against the Gators in said field after it was named in his honor.

Robert Cleckler: finished with a 17-18-1 record against UF. Two national championships, had to watch UF win 3 national championships during his tenure including one in his second-to-last season. Was historically beaten down 52-20 by UF in New Orleans for the Gators first national championship. Finished on a 6-game losing streak to the Gators and lost 7 of his last 9 to UF. Coached until the age of 80 chasing Joe Paterno's record and never got it. Has a field named after him (11/20/2004) that Ron Zook took ownership of on the day it was christened, and went 0-3 against the Gators in said field after it was named in his honor.

Lenny the rancid Ham: finished with an 11-12 record against UF. Not bad, actually, courtesy of Mike White who we ran out of town with pitchforks being sharpened and torches being lit. No national championships, had to watch UF win 3 national championships (just cause you retired in March 2025 doesn't mean the April 2025 Gator NC didn't happen during your tenure, Lenny) during his tenure after he promised in 2002 that it would take a year for the programs to be on par with each other. OUCH! That one stings, Lenny. Finished on a 4-game losing streak against the Gators. Coached to the age of 76 chasing who knows what because he never got past the Elite 8 ( just like Mike White) and had no chance of ever reaching a Final Four, much less winning a National Championship. The city of TallyHellHole is thinking of naming the court after him; the Gators have a 12-11 record on that floor/court since it opened in 1981.

You can make arguments that those coaches were great/good/decent and yet they all had losing records against their biggest rival. They all form part of the Geritol Club of TallyHellHole, coached into the mid-to-late 70s chasing records and championships that never came, and let their once-winning records against UF be overtaken by younger coaches who dominated them (Sully 29-16 vs Lord of NO Rings, Urban 5-0 vs Robert Cleckler, Golden 3-0 vs Lenny the rancid Ham), gave them losing records against the Gators, and won national championships to rub in their faces. F$U admin and fans love them their geriatric coaches; UF wins national championships. Seems like a pretty good tradeoff to me.

Go Gators! Eat a bag of dicks, Holes!!!
