He has been a very hard worker and seems to do the right things off the field also. You really hate to see that happen to a kid when it's a crazy injury like that after the play is done.
Crazy just jumping up celebrating and landing like that can tear an ACL.
Yeah he gave us everything he had. He accepted the Lagway situation like a professional as well. Good Gator.

I didn't think much of him at Wisconsin. He was a turnover machine. But he was a great player for you guys and seems like a good teammate and mature.

Mertz gave 100% during his time here. His coaches let him down. The situational play calling and game management support he got from them was abysmal. Better coaching would have this team competitive in every game they play. It's sad, because there is better talent than the results logged so far. I'm tired of even thinking about it.
Good to see he will stay active trying to help Lagway. A lot of QBs just do their rehab mostly and don't help out the new QB that much when in this situation.
