There's a bigger picture here.
Still down ~7% (DOW) since the 4/2 announcement but it's clawing its way back day by day.
Don't know who this guy is but he's right about containers. We have 3 full containers of lighting products sitting at the port waiting on a ride over the pond. We're only going to take one of them, because everyone in our supply chain will be negative 20%-50% margin (depending on the split) if we paid the tariff...and we can't raise prices that much. I think we're at a 145% tariff burden.
We've told the mill to halt all production on current orders and advise the inventory they have on hand. After 90 days we will owe them an inventory write off payment, and we'll likely kill these products (i.e. - stop selling them to our customers).
This is absolutely having an effect on the Chinese economy.
It's actually the best way to negotiate. You know where you want to be, then go in way above so you can "settle" you can give and take alittle and actually come in above what you actually wanted.
Here is your update:
The Market is UP.
Dow Jones is UP.
S & P 500 is UP.
Nasdaq is UP.
Might have to move this to the WINNING Thread.
TDS trolls didn't disappoint.
Dow was up 500 points today, third straight up day. Bessent also added we could be days away from a trade deal with South Korea. Which will put more pressure on China to cut a deal.
Here's what we will see from now on:
If the market goes up, it's cause Bessent did something smart.
If the market goes down, it's cause Trump did something stupid.
If Trump talks tough on China, he's an idiot.
If Trump talks Presidential toward China, he's caving.

4) He's within 1pt of his first term in that same poll at the same point in his term, yet he somehow won again in an EC landslide...odd
Plus Trump has never polled particularly well while in office. I have a theory as to why that is.

He said Trump's polls were horrible and it was due to people hating tariffs. The truth is that his approval rating is currently 44% vs 45% his first term. The fact that his approval has barely moved proves that the opposite is happening, tariffs aren't hurting him, people are actually tuning out the media.
The only people still listening to the media are people like kalim.
The better saying is "those who tolerate everything, stand for nothing."

I don't consider his win a landslide but I know why you would say that to kiss Trumps ass and no I didn't consider Biden's a landslide and he won by more. Now Clinton/1st Bush were landslides.
No excuses, people are doing single factor analysis. Time will tell how the economy does, but it’s pretty good right now. The stock market isn’t the economy, it’s a part of it.
We judged Biden daily but you were talking about polls.

Yes there were constant poll watching on here in regards to Biden. I can easily bring up the threads. Some of you ask like the stuff on here deletes after 30 days 😄.
I don't think any victory under 100 ecs a landslide but there is no real definition for landslide, we all have our own, so about 86 is yours.
