Get Frost out of your head, it isn't happening. Willie Taggert is a coach who could be a lifer at UF, and worst case scenario, if he doesn't work out, he'd absolutely kill it in recruiting and leave the next coach with a full cupboard. He is the only coach out there right now that could salvage this recruiting class.

He's done a fine job at Oregon this season, all things considered. They were a train wreck, far off from their Mariota days, and he's got them headed in the right direction after his first season. More importantly, he actually has an idea on offense and knows the type of player to recruit here to be successful.

He's a sneaky good hire who I think could actually kill it at UF.

I'm not sure he's that much better a bet than Frost to accept the Florida job. He's been at Oregon one year, and I'm not clear that UF right now is that much of a better job than Oregon. He'd probably have a better roster starting 2018 if he stays there.

He wants to come back to the South.

Yes, Strong rode Taggart's built team at USF to success this year but Taggart has a career losing record. How can the mighty Gators go for that?

This is spot on, but don’t expect this board to support you, they are still delusional enough to think someone can win with our MAC level roster in the SEC. our next coach is set up to fail so you might as well hire the guy who can reload the roster. Unfortunately it sounds like UAA is hugely valuing experience in P5 so I am somewhat expecting Mullen.

He would be another experiment. He doesn't have enough experience. I personally don't like coaches from Bradenton.

Rich Rod may be available...on a serious note I would take him over Tags

Didn’t Oregon just blowout Arizona last weekend?

Yes I know 1 game doesn’t mean much but Taggart is a better recruiter than Rich Rod as well. Both of their offenses are pretty similar.

I don’t think anyone is saying Taggart is necessarily an elite coach. Though he is on his 3rd straight turnaround. The desire for Taggart comes in the need to get some talent back on both sides of the roster. He is also tied to a lot of excellent recruiting assistants and is a god in the Tampa area.

But kudos to Stricklin, if we miss on Frost a divided fanbase we will remain.

I was kidding. Just poking some fun at Michi.

RichRod, like a guy like Norvell, would have been successful following Champ. However, Foley bent us over by hiring Mac and unfortunately now, reloading the roster sooner rather than later is the most important thing to do
In all seriousness, Rich Rod wouldve been way better than the last two ding dongs foley hired.

You can’t blame Stricklin for missing on Frost IMO. Frost is going to his alma mater much like Spurrier went to his alma mater. Put yourself in Frost’s shoes for a minute.

I am not blaming him for missing on Frost, I have never for a minute believed he would chose anyone over Nebraska, especially with Osborne so prominant there.

I just think we now head for a coach that will not unite the fanbase. And I say that based on what I see on lots of boards. There is support for all the targets and opposition to them all as well. I think Chip would have dodged that, but unfortunately this is the position we are in because of Foley. But I do not expect a hugely united fanbase until we are winning again. Too many shit hires in a row people jumped on board with, now people will want results.

My biggest beef is the stupid ass tweets by Stricklin, he truly looks like a fool now

You seemed to be a pretty big fan of Taggart when he was still a possibility for UF. Stop changing the narrative.

I see a brighter side: The fix-up is easy for this thread.

We just need "GatorsFanYeah" to scroll up to his? original posting, and on the upper right (above the white text-of-posting box), click on the wrench icon (signifying "options"?); then select "Edit Title", then:

Correct the spelling of the new FSU head-football-coach's last name to "Taggart" (no 'e', if we can trust "Noles247")[†].

• In the slot displayed for editing the currently uninformative Title (i.e., "clear choice" for whom!?), append just 2 words: "for FSU".

Finish by clicking "Save Changes".

Your footnote shtick is simply bizarre.

No doubt...this is how I picture Compu:

He was our top choice. Perfect fit at FSU. [...] an explosive offense again [...].
Uh, huh. With only 1 year of major-conference coaching experience, following his 40--45 career record, combined from 3 years at WKU and 4 years at USF. Nole officials apparently have been convinced somehow that his 20--24 career home record (which should omit distortions from games as visiting victims-for-paydays) won't be an accurate predictor of his Noles' performances in Tallahassee.

[...] and he's a lights out recruiter.
Ah, yes. Thanks for the reminder of Ol' Dandy Don: "Turn out the liiights, the paaarty's oooh-ver!"

Tap your heels three times and keep repeating that
Wait! Wouldn't a Nole need to put on the famous "Glitter Slippers" before starting such a ritual!?

Appreciate you eschewing the footnotes.
