...err...approached.

Anyway, found on TOS

Texas reassigned Augie Garedo. Supposedly their top target to replace him is Sully. UT submitted a public records request from UF a few weeks ago because they wanted to review Sully's contract.

Sully is apparently frustrated by the facilities at UF, which aren't in the Top 10 in the league...probably only 12th.

Foley often asks each coach what they need from him to win. I wonder how many times Sully has asked Foley for a stadium upgrade?

Big raise and some money for the stadium upgrade.
Yep.

Needs an upper deck with an overhanging roof something terrible

From last year when Clemson was looking;

"O’Sullivan, whose Gators routed Florida State 13-5 Friday night in a Super Regional opener, will be difficult to pry out of Gainesville. His contract runs through the 2019 season at $594,000 per year, which is in the top 5 among SEC schools.

Foley has lost only one coach in his 23-year tenure to a lateral move: basketball coach Lon Kruger to Illinois in 1996, which was then not terribly shocking due to UF’s spotty hoops reputation.

O’Sullivan’s circumstances are much different, starting with the fact Foley hired him and the Gators’ program has experienced consistent success (339-171 record) in his eight seasons. If Clemson made a generous offer to entice the 46-year-old Sullivan, UF isn’t likely to stand pat and do nothing."

If necessary to keep him, he should be the highest paid coach in the SEC. If we won't do that, and we lose him, then we're not serious about continuing to compete at this level.

No excuse to not have the top stadium in the league .

Then again Sully is still getting the top recruits despite this....so does that really bother him?

We're behind the curve with softball and baseball. If Foley & UAA want to keep us at a national championship caliber, they need to spend the money to prove it. Both facilities are lacking compared to other top tier programs in the country. However, fan support is lacking as well. We don;t get near the attendance at baseball and softball as other big time programs. If we the people don't support the teams as well as others, we can't expect the money to be spent like others.

This is true. But I do think fan support is building with the consistent success sully has had and the talent he's brought in. When I went to games, 2002-2004, there were no bleachers in the outfield and there would be a couple hundred fans at most games. Games were free. They just left the gates open.

It is shameful that the success Sully has brought to Gainesville has not translated into either a majorly upgraded or brand new Baseball Stadium... If we lose him to Texas, there is nobody to blame but Foley...very sad.

Florida finished 15th nationally in attendance last year, averaging 3,500 fans per home game. If everybody else's attendance stayed the same, we would finish 10th this year with right at 4,000 fans per home game. That would put us 7th in the SEC.

that's not great, but UTx has no chance of cracking the top 5 either, all of which average more than 7,500 per game - LSU, Ole Miss, Arky, MSU, and S. Carolina.

From a national writer for D1baseball.com in Texas:

BREAKING: @GatorsBB HC Kevin OSullivan, #Texas top target, will remain w/ #Gators after '16. Will NOT entertain more interest from #Horns.

That is clearly massive news for @GatorsBB. Sources were very confident #Horns would be able to snag Sully. UF clearly stepped up huge here.

My sense is that a big pay increase will be announced for Sully at the end of the season, no matter how it ends. I will be shocked if there is not an announcement about upgrades to the baseball facility.

The real important "upgrade" from the coaches perspective would be the practice areas, locker room/training, etc. Of course a great stadium is a nice thing too.

UF's been getting great talent during the Sully era here in Florida. Same kind of talent in Texas. Don't get the idea Sully isn't happy at UF. He should be paid as much as anyone in the SEC imo.

Baseball & softball facilities should get major upgrades ASAP and the 2 coaches should get raises commensurate with their achievements.

Foley said once O'dome is finish then softball stadium was next, then baseball stadium.
What is interesting is that when the softball stadium and facilities were first built, back in 2004 or thereabout, they were considered to be state of the art and better than almost anywhere else. Now those facilities are in the middle of the pack even in the SEC
