Stanford eliminates 11 sports

This is big.They are seeing the writing on the wall with expected lower revenues. I know they have always carried significantly more programs than the rest, but the fact that they can no longer afford to do so is telling.
Will be interesting to.see what the landscape looks like around the country in a year or two for the non-revenue generating sports.

Interesting in the article I read that Stanford athletics have been operating in a deficit for years. They had begun to look at cutting some sports early 2019. I guess this put them too deep into the red.

A lot of these programs sports don't make money to support it

Most actually. Even at the big schools, only football and basketball operate in the black, the rest are in the red. Baseball is finally starting to break even and in some cases turn a (very) little profit.
 
All over a flu strain. Let's hope America remembers this the next time the left tries to plunge the nation into unfounded hysteria.
