Stanford eliminates 11 sports

This is big.They are seeing the writing on the wall with expected lower revenues. I know they have always carried significantly more programs than the rest, but the fact that they can no longer afford to do so is telling.
Will be interesting to.see what the landscape looks like around the country in a year or two for the non-revenue generating sports.

That is huge... Stanford carried the most sports as any other institution out there

Some sports are going to have to self fund as club sports or disappear

Most actually. Even at the big schools, only football and basketball operate in the black, the rest are in the red. Baseball is finally starting to break even and in some cases turn a (very) little profit.
