He is right as you probably need to be top 5/6 area to have any chance in the SEC to make the playoff. I liked the subtle dig at the facilities/Foley.

We always had one of the best hauls with him until the end when he knew he was leaving.

No one but FSU and Miami a few years got better recruits than him. We actually matched FSU a few years Zook was an assistant under him.

I think almost anyone would be a legit top 10 default recruiter at UF if not for the facilities being so far behind now. I just hope Mullen can get to that top 5/6 level in the 2021 class when we can sell the facilities are going to be top notch.

If anyone cares to remember, Meyer was advocating for facility upgrades during his tenure. Foley preferred to spend resources on Olympic sports and the like. He couldn’t see why we needed better facilities because our team was so good. Then he proceeded to hire two asshat coaches and now we’re light years behind, haveing given away most of the ground we had gained since 1990.

At least the games are watchable now. I can actually sit through 4 quarters. That in itself is a big first step

He's correct and we all know it. Recruiting is improving but the game is changing too. We are headed in the right direction...between Chump and Butter Teeth they have put us off course for 8 years. We just finished the 1st recruiting cycle but it's a 3 year rebuild. I think you know this...not sure why you keep beating this drum.

When you watch Jefferson, Grimes, Krull and Schueller today remember none of them calculated into the ratings you hang so tightly too.

And I don’t know who you wanted as coach, Norvell? (lmfao) but no one was going to turn this around so quickly with the hand they were dealt. Hell, Mac made UF a freaking national joke. Foley made two terrible hires and wouldn’t spend a dime to keep football facilities where they needed to be.

But yet coming off a 10-3 season and having watchable football again isn’t anything unless we are top 3 in recruiting. Also consider both Chump and Shark-humper were abysmal at recruiting to fill a roster and Mullen fixed that. But again, none of this matters because you hated Mullen from Day 1 and predicted 5 wins last year. He doubled your prediction and he still sucks.

You also fail to post the numerous articles from before, during and after last season where SOS openly praises the hiring of Mullen and insists he was the right guy and a great fit for UF.

You can start with recruiting to improve/maintain your football team. Mullen and Florida needs to continue to recruit the "blue-chip" type players who will help the Gators to have winning seasons. But eventually, one also has to recruit the game-breaking type of players, too, in higher number.

But another thing that can affect your team is the "transfer portal".
Recently, Florida has had some very good transfers come in to the program:
OL: J. Delance
Wide outs Van Jefferson, Trevon Grimes
DL: Adam Shuler, J.Greenard, Marlon Dunlap

I agree with the rest you said...but this last statement is the biggest myth ever on Rivals or any internet forum. Spurs signed high ranked classes at UF. He had that Glades area pipeline going on.

Before him SCar never got the names such as Clowney, Lattamore, Alshon Jefferies, and such.

It was the extreme South FLA area that had a lockout against Spurs for whatever reason that was his only knock. However Spurs owned Jax,half of Tampa, and cherry picker Georgia at will. Louisiana as well.

Spurrier did pull in great classes. The knock was that FSU almost always had a better class and kept getting kids to secretly commit to FSU and publicly commit to UF, so we would get hosed on signing day.

This is the reason I love the early signing period. You tell a kid, you have a hard offer until ESD, if you don't sign then we pull it and move on. So if a kid tries to pull that crap, you have time to get a replacement. And because it won't work, there is no reason for teams to try to play that game.
