Smart dismisses Brenton Cox Jr

I only know what I read in the papers and the Pecan Payroll was fully disclosed last year in the papers up in Marietta Georgia where my brother lives. It's basically an EVERYONE KNOWS ITS HAPPENING thing. But go ahead and be snarky about it to me as if I'm having the bad attitude. Find another legitimate explanation as to why a permanent middle of the pack SEC team all of a suddenly can pull in top recruiting classes in back to back years when they've never had one in their entire team history. Georgia is lucky if they get 1 or 2 5* players a decade, and you don't find the current recruiting classes suspect in the least? Just like when Hugh Freeze was at Ole Miss. A school that never had a 5* recruit in it's entire history and he was pulling in top 10 classes left and right. We all knew he was crooked and it turned out he was. We all know the same thing about 4th and dumb and people in the know have reported as such to the local reporters. It's not some big secret.

And no, I'm not saying that funny stuff isn't going on at my school either. If you ain't cheating you ain't trying. Georgia is just paying much better salaries right now compared to other SEC schools.

Adam Anderson (rivals and 247 five star), Robert Beal (espn five star) not freshmen.

Plus we signed the number one juco recruit in the country last year at that position, Jermaine Johnson. And we all know about Nolan Smith. He was being passed on the depth chart, trust me.

Oh. Weren’t those two 5 stars sitting behind Cox last year? Beal has barely seen the field in his time at UGA and is basically a bust. And I actually had a good friend that coached Adam Anderson. Didn’t count him because it’s his second year on campus. Really good player but he’s a twig which is why he barely played last year while Cox was getting reps. So the same guys who couldn’t beat Cox out now are suddenly putting him on the bench. Sure.

You can spin it however you want, but you tried to call me out and got proven wrong

Kirby cut Cox lose because he’s tired of his attitude and knows he has others that will pick up the slack.

You may want to read again. I said you’d be replacing him with Smith but because you don’t want to acknowledge that because of how silly it’d make all your tap dancing look you mentioned a bunch of other 5-stars...all of which rode bench behind Cox. And then lo and behold you mention Smith not even two posts later.

I’m 100% sure you don’t understand why that makes you look silly though, because you’re you. Naming a bunch of other guys who Cox was ahead of doesn’t actually support your point. Your staff redshirted Anderson but played Cox. Beal barely played but they played Cox. Why? So who’s left? The true freshman who is in line to start right? Yea exactly.

Do they think the Georgia legislature making public records more difficult to attain was coincidental timing? When UF was cheating it was the St Pete Times that broke it open, that was all about public records. UGa's elected alumni are trying to keep the good times rolling as long as possible. But the hammer will come.

The spin machine is in full force...I completely understand. It’s okay to admit when you’re wrong. Your groupies on here will still love you.

Still whining. You wanted to be right so bad. Who is the 5-star starting over Cox? The freshman right? All I see is deflection.

And Kirby’s bottom bitch calling other posters groupies lol. You critique coaches wardrobes like women do, can’t be any more of a groupie than that, You’re always projecting.

More attrition for Georgia's No. 1-ranked class of 2018
By Chip Towers, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

ATHENS — Georgia hasn’t gotten much mileage out of its No. 1-ranked recruiting class of 2018 so far. That fact was underscored again Monday with the apparent loss of another 5-star member.

Brenton Cox, a sophomore outside linebacker from Stockbridge, was one of a record seven 5-star prospects to sign with the Bulldogs in that class.

Cox was already expected to be suspended for Georgia’s season opener due to a spring arrest for marijuana possession. He played in 12 games last season as a backup and started the Sugar Bowl in January in place of the injured D’Andre Walker. Cox totaled 20 tackles and one quarterback sack as a Bulldog.

Cox was one of seven 5-star signees in Georgia’s ballyhooed class of 2018. However, none of the 2018 players are assured of a starting position this season.

Quarterback Justin Fields, the top-rated player, transferred to Ohio State after playing a back-up role last season.

No. 1-ranked running back Zamir White was redshirted after suffering a preseason ACL injury.

Cornerback Tyson Campbell started the first nine games of last season but lost his position to Eric Stokes (a 3* athlete from the 2017 class)

Two other touted members of the 2018 class are no longer with the team. Tight end Luke Ford transferred to Illinois at the end of last season and cornerback Nadad Joseph fell short of academic eligibility requirements.
My Goodness!
Whatever is happening with that 2019 Georgia football team?
Some of the rats (of that 2018 UGA class) are skipping Athens because none of them can win a starting job by their sophmore years.
Oh my!

Hey Jax remember that time you went crying to a Rivals board about how you were tired of your rivals not giving your coach enough respect? Sounds like something a groupie would do. Lol.

Says the guy who is literally ALWAYS projecting.

Nah, we all know what groupies do. Well, those of us lucky enough to experience one, anyway ;)

Some guy on the dawg board claims he readjusted the points and we were still number 1. I can’t confirm or deny his findings, but we can all agree that we’re still way ahead of them gators.

April was a long long time ago. Lots of problems in Athens where they try to sweep things under the rug. First the WR from an incident from over a year ago and now this.
UGA acted on JJ Holloman as soon as his gf at the time reported it. They didn't try to keep it quiet.
It sucks any time you lose a 5* (and Cox was extremely talented) but OLB is not a position we're concerned about.
If it was the DL or if Swift were dismissed that'd be a different story.

Btw, tell me how the Jalon Joned incident wasnt a sweep under the rug.

Holloman’s incident happened about a year prior before he even got dismissed. Pretty sure Jones dismissal happened much much quicker than that.

Well Jalon Jones played in the spring game (an effin practice!) before he was even charged. That means UF covered it up. So says the Dawgs with their shitty logic.

Did you not read where I said his girlfriend at the time waited a year to report it. As soon as she reported it UGA took action.

you guys will soon be challenging the osu buckeyes as most delusional fan base in America. At least that's one title you have a shot of actually winning.

At least Ohio State has won s national title or two in our lifetime, unlike UGA

I believe Azeez Ojulari and Walter Grant will be starting, however, we’re six deep at those positions with 3 five stars and and the number one juco recruit from last year. I just brought facts to the table. He won’t like it...
Walter Grant and Jermaine Johnson will begin the season as starters. I have doubts they will be able to hold off Anderson and Nolan Smith

Can’t wait to see all the tears and the justifications as to why he isn’t that good. Hilarious.

He was a 5 star for areason. Terrible attitude. Would NOT follow rules
Cancer in the locker room. Hopefully, your coaching staff can straighten him out

I will take it if he is a top talent in reality. There are times a kid must leave where they are at but should be given another chance somewhere else.

You will take this as sour grapes but Cox was openly defiant toward coaches and had to be dismissed. His removal will improve team chemistry. I am shocked that with all the talk about Mullen taking players with character issues (assaults on women), that you would jump on a player that had been dismissed for character issues. If I WANTED to sabotage one of my rivals, I would send a player with a cancerous attitude to join their team.

(or maybe a sub-standard coach) ;)

Warren to UGly.

Torrian Gray to UF, along with Kaiir Elam...

Works for me... :D:p:D

It was a great move by Mullen IMO. He’s done very well in the transfer portal.

Addition by subtraction. We’re loaded at that position.
Until you’re not....chasing what you perceive as talent or potential is fine as long as you produce with it, but when you’re an inept driver with the fastest car, you still don’t win Kirby!;)

Exactly why Cox is at Florida...he had talent but couldn't produce. The good news is he is probably the beat player on your team. Knowing Hunchback he can overlook the malcontent behavior since he learned under Urban.

Yeah that is exactly it. Man you are so smart and clever. He only started that bowl game for UGA but yes he’s no good.

Look, we get it, after 40 years of being bent over and watching other programs win a natty, you've probably got a very sore anus. It shows clearly...you can't let it go...
