ATHENS —
Georgia hasn’t gotten much mileage out of its No. 1-ranked recruiting class of 2018 so far. That fact was underscored again Monday with the apparent loss of another 5-star member.
Brenton Cox, a sophomore outside linebacker from Stockbridge, was one of a record seven 5-star prospects to sign with the Bulldogs in that class.
Cox was already expected to be suspended for Georgia’s season opener due to
a spring arrest for marijuana possession. He played in 12 games last season as a backup and started the Sugar Bowl in January in place of the injured D’Andre Walker. Cox totaled 20 tackles and one quarterback sack as a Bulldog.
