What will the trumpettes say now? I thought wearing masks was pointless, but now trump is saying they have a positive impact on slowing the spread of coronavirus. Either trump is wrong, or you are...which one is it?

C: You're wrong. No one ever said wearing a mask was wrong, in fact we all stressed that wearing a mask around someone who is sick or with underlying medical conditions is not only smart, it's considerate.
What we've always said is that there is zero reason for a healthy person to wear a mask. And if you wear a mask too much it CAN MAKE YOU SICK.

Are you a doctor or specialist in infectious disease by any chance? I doubt it, since you are struggling with the "difference" between the flu vaccine and the flu shot....Yet you claim to know more than the innumerable healthcare professionals worldwide who have advocated for social distancing and mask wearing, even amongst the "healthy"? Or maybe you think that trump's plans with regards to bleach is really the silver bullet we've been waiting for lol
The problem is that even those who are asymptomatic can still spread their viral load to others who are potentially vulnerable. Furthermore, a healthy person can contract the illness, and wearing a mask limits the chances of that happening. Unless you have a respiratory illness that would prevent you from wearing a mask in a public space, there really is no reason not to wear a mask, both for your own protection and the protection of those around you.

I don't know how to say this other than to say you are a moron. Everyone from the CDC to Dr Fauci to medical experts all across the world have said that there's ZERO REASON for a health person to wear a mask.
Any intelligent person can see that the medical community is completely divided on wearing masks, and then any intelligent person can decide for themselves when and if they should wear one.
This is another example of dems wanting to control people's lives and turn the rest of us into sheep like this guy.

You must have missed Dr. F on NPR yesterday, where he emphasized the importance of masks. NPR has the 8 minute segment so you may listen or read the transcript.
What is your take on "masks work the way they are said to work" ? How are they said to work as you understand? I think there may be some miscommunication in this area.
Of course there's miscommunication, we've been saying that all along.
Yet despite complete miscommunication and the complete lack of a consensus among medical experts on the value of wearing masks, one half the country is saying ALL people MUST wear masks at all times.
The other half is saying something more intelligent. Proud to side with intelligence on this issue.

Perhaps it was only your friends that want you to wear a mask at all times, I've not heard that advice. I do agree that the WH admin. has sent mixed messages and miscommunication about masks since early on and people are dead because of it.

Proving that the shutdown for CoV is political and not medical.

So you think another shutdown is necessary? Admittedly I am reading between the lines but that's what I read.
Science is difficult for some to grasp. When scientists study more, learn more, gather more data, it is then required that they modify theories, or projections based on new information. It is not considered a failure unless you actually do not do so. Your failure is that you choose to ignore the modified science in order to keep your narrative.
I'm going to call BS here a little bit. We didn't "learn more" about the efficacy of wearing masks. Our leaders lied about wearing masks so that people would stop buying them so that medical and first responders could have the ability to procure them.
I have seen that, but only in regard to medical grade PPE. Not happy with being misled, but those people certainly needed all the help they could get. PPE is still scarce.
Masks stop 5-7 Micron particles.
Virus is in the 2-4 Micron range.
Masks can stop bacterial infections.
A screen door in a submarine is not effective, and neither are masks vs a virus.

Your screen door analogy is funny, but flawed. Air molecules are hundreds of times smaller than a virus, and you are correct bacteria are hundreds of times larger than a virus. Take an oscillating fan, turn it on high, let the wind go back and forth, note the wind. Now take a T shirt (two layers, front and back) hold it an inch in front of your face. Notice how much less wind you feel. Remember air molecules are hundreds of times smaller than virus.
It wasn't only for medical grade PPE. You couldn't find dust masks either. We now have reasonably reliable dust mask suppliers but that's been fairly recent.
I can't answer for him but my expectations are that we should see a massive reduction in new cases. If we don't, what are we doing?

None. I do believe it helps by stopping larger spit and mucous particles however. How much does it help? That is a fantastic question with dozens of political answers and very damn few scientific ones.

Ummmmm.....that's not what happened and you know it. Fauci now claims he LIED in March to keep everyone from grabbing masks that frontline medical workers needed.
I personally had no expectations that the masks would have any measurable impact on hoax flu cases or deaths.
So far, my expectations are being met.
Masks, of course, are one part of the message. Social distancing, and hand washing are the other two. To obtain a massive reduction in new cases without another major shutdown, we'll consistently need all three.
Agree on hand washing (that should always be the case) but you need to social distance OR wear a mask.
That means Karen doesn't need to wear her mask if she's in her car alone.
I'll just use one of the 3 already proven cures instead, and leave the PPE's, the OCD constant hand washing, and vaccines to the clueless twits.
The only people I've seen that aren't social distancing are the dems who are rioting and Fauci and his pals who are attending baseball games, while telling the rest of us that we aren't allowed to.
When mask mandate is introduced into an area, IF the masks work to reduce cases and deaths, that will be reflected in the numbers. Mask mandates have been used all across the country, and not a single area can point to mask mandate as being the cause of a significant drop in cases and/or deaths.
You know it, I know it. So let's all stop lying about the effectiveness of wearing a mask to stop cases and deaths, because it's proven that it's ability to do either is limited at the very best and non-existent at the worst.
Let's recap: First you claimed masks caused CO2 poisoning, then it was oxygen deprivation, then you claimed Broward Cty mandated masks in your house.... and each of these have proved who was lying. But NOW you say masks might have limited ability....

We've been told that wearing masks save lives. Masks are now MANDATED in the majority of the country. Cases and deaths have not disappeared.
Trump said let's take HCQ and get outside in the sunlight, and science has proven him right on both counts. Dems said HCQ kills people, so does being outside. So they mandated everyone stay at home, made HCQ illegal, and hell some places like Broward Co are even mandating you have to wear your masks INSIDE YOUR HOUSE.
Yet hoax flu deaths and cases persist.
Critical thinker can see the way the dems tell us to handle hoax flu isn't working.
