If anyone is interested, I broke down how we can stay at the 7 seed instead of the 8 or 9 seed so we don't have to play Kentucky if we happen to win our first game.
This is all assuming that Arkansas finishes second.
Currently Florida, Vandy, Alabama, and Tennessee are battling for spots 7-10.
Team (Record)- Final Game
Vanderbilt (8-9)- @ Ole Miss
Florida (8-9)- @ Kentucky
Alabama (7-10)- @ Texas A&M
Tennessee (7-10)- vs. South Carolina
Tied with just Vandy at 8-10
Florida gets 7 seed
Series tied at 1-1Florida has highest seeded win (#2 Arkansas)
Tied with Vandy & Tennessee at 8-10 (most likely scenario)
Florida gets 7 seed
Records vs. each other: UF 2-1, VU 2-2, UT 1-2
Tied with Vandy & Alabama at 8-10
Florida gets 8 seed
Records vs. each other: VU 3-1, UF 2-1, Bama 0-3
Tied with Vandy, Tennessee, & Alabama at 8-10
Florida gets 7 seed
Records vs. each other: UF 3-1, VU 4-2, UT 1-3, Bama 1-3
So really as long as Vandy loses and we don't end up tied with Vandy AND Alabama, we will be the 7 seed. Or we can just beat Kentucky...
