BG, this is a very long running (years in the making) back and forth, and nothing in this thread is as bad as some of what has gone on between us, mostly at HIS instigation. I simply reply in kind when HE STARTS his usual chit, much like the dunny-goater does here. Learn the history and you'd not bother to ask me any dumb questions about it... :cool:

Did you notice that it was this Mad-Dog-dollie that started the chit with me yet again, in his opening post in this thread? If not, then go back and look again... o_O

UT played Iowa in GatorBowl( I don't care what they call it. Still the old Gator Bowl to me. One of the 8 or so legitimate bowls from back in the late 1960's) after the 2014 season. Iowa's lack of speed was noticeable from the start. Plus, they acted as if they didn't want to be there. One of the few games where the UT staff did an excellent job of scouting and preparing. The UT Defense pulled it's safeties up close to the line and dared Iowa to throw. 9 in the box choked their running game to zilch and we had L/Bs faster than their W/Rs.

Q/B had a weak arm. but he rarely had any time to throw. And they simply could not handle UT's speed at RB and W/R.

Q/B transferred after that game I believe. He was a RS Junior who had already graduated.


I don't know how much they could have changed if any in the last 2 years. But that plodding style of offense ( they actually ran 240+ lb White Boy F/Bs as F/B and T/B out of the I formation.) is the norm for that league. That's one of the reasons Meyer had instant success at OSU by bringing SEC type players with their speed to that team and playing SEC style football.


Iowa scored 4 TDs in that game but 3 of them came in the 4th quarter against 2nd and 3rd teamers as Jones emptied the bench after UT was up 35-7. Final score was UT 45-28.
 
iowa never changes, that's why the fans I know hate him. They hate it so much they just laugh about him being there forever at this point

im afraid of that happening to us right now

Yeah I don't get it. One of my best friends was a Vol, he died recently way too young. Just because somebody, through his particular set of circumstances, is a fan of another school, they're still just people.
Insta is just bitter. He acts like he's got the whole universe figured out, but there is a giant hole in his soul.
I would be a lot less forgiving towards somebody who was idiotic about politics. There is one right way in politics, no matter where you're born or went to school.

I lean Iowa myself just because they keep pounding the ball the whole game. I think we may have guys on defense not caring by the 2nd half again just like the Michigan game last season.

I think this concern is a bit overwrought. If we are on our fifth or sixth year with Mac and all we have to show for it are a few SECe titles then those comparisons are apt. But certainly not after two years.

The only person that (I) insult with actual malice on the World Wide Online is Danny. (Other than my reviews on PORNHUB...I take those VERY seriously and I will call out poor acting in my review of a clip prior to finishing)

That argument would be worth something at the beginning of the season, or heck, even midseason. But a kid who's on the scout team and probably hasn't worked much with the starters, why would you thrust him onto the field at this point? Use your head for something other than a hatrack. Damn.
