I have not been around much since the end of the 2022 season, I am not attuned to the general consensus on the QB situation past Mertz.
I know that, officially, Mertz beat out Miller, but is Miller regarded as a legit QB option? What I mean by 'legit' is, as a backup, can he come in vs the #1 most difficult schedule in the country and do some things should Mertz go down? Is he a viable starting option for next year or is it Lagway-as-a-true-freshman or bust?
I was hoping Brown would/could emerge this summer as a viable #2, if only for his change of pace abilities. How has he looked this summer?
EDIT: I see now Mertz has two seasons of eligibility remaining, so he could return in '24.
