FWIW Brandon’s Francis only started 1 game his senior year at Texas Tech. He wasn’t a starter. He still made a smart move going to Gonzaga. I like the kid and Mike White totally misused his talents. He was blamed for the slowdown offense we ran the last 2 years and it seems White advised him to leave Florida because he was giving the PG position to Tre Mann. Mann is probably the better NBA prospect, but is not a point guard. Nembhard did fine in the up tempo style at Gonzaga, leading the nation in assist to turnover ratio, while Florida suffered greatly from not having anybody who could dish the ball without turning it over. So we've had 2 White rejects, Nembhard and Brandon Francois (Texas Tech), who transferred out and then started for teams who played for the national championship. Makes you wonder about his ability to evaluate, develop and utilize talent, huh?
Ouch!!!Right now at this very moment...on Andrew Nembhard’s phone...is a sympathy text...from Christian Drejer...
You're right, Francis started 1 game at Texas Tech. But he was a major contributor for the national runners-up after Mike White basically rejected him. Solid ball player that White didn't properly utilize.FWIW Brandon’s Francis only started 1 game his senior year at Texas Tech. He wasn’t a starter.
I’m not sure it was his idea to leave. It WAS kind of interesting that Nembhard was like so clearly obviously the worst starter on the court on either team tonight...
he didn’t look any different to sadgator....scratch that...he looked worse...maybe he should have stayed with White after all...
Hillary gives Bill a nembhard. For weeks before transitioning into Caitlyn, Bruce was feeling very nembhard...
Poor guy averaged 9.0 pts. on a 31-1 team. Hey I got one, Mrs. SadGator was so tired of Mr. SadGator’s performance in bed as he constantly went Nembhard in bed.AAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWW....
Creative, funny stuff.“Hey Scottie, this is Andrew! Look, I’m thinking about pulling my annual stunt when I check my NBA draft status. If it works out, I was hoping we could maybe be roommates. Hey, there aren’t any real vampires in Transylvania, are there?”
He was also 3rd on the team in minutes played and down the stretch and in the NCAA tournament was on the floor more than any of his teammates. He, also, led the team in assists and from what the commentators said he led the nation in assist to turnover ratio - 140-39. He was, also, tied for 3rd on the team in steals and shot 48% from the field, 75% from the free throw line. His job was not to score. It was handle and distribute the ball, which he did extremely well. Jason Suggs was the superstar guard on that team and he had 136 assists, but 88 turnovers. Suggs is way more athletic, but only scored 5 more points per game than Nembhard and fouls too much, leading the team. But he had 57 steals, 10 blocked shots and will probably have a solid NBA career, while Nembhard will not. I know people have gotten a kick out of dissing the kid, but he did what he thought was best for him and look what it got him - a conference title and national runner-up. Not too shabby.Poor guy averaged 9.0 pts. on a 31-1 team. Hey I got one, Mrs. SadGator was so tired of Mr. SadGator’s performance in bed as he constantly went Nembhard in bed.
Amazing all these Basketball experts who think touching the Net on their best jump
makes them a Pro ball player. I used to go up to a school in Gainesville with my low air Ball and dunk. Once we were playing at a school and the Gator team came onto the court and they picked teams and I was the last guy picked and the only White guy. I set a pick on Vernon Maxwell and he wasn’t happy. He said “Don’t ever do that again.” His arms were like an 80” reach. Mad Max. One guy was like 5’8” and dunking. Drew Moten? I can’t remember.
He seems like a really great guy. Some of his comments after the game were very philosophical and extremely classy...he simply couldn’t have been more gracious in defeat...hopefully those kids listened to his meaningful words; they are very lucky to have him...I think Few is one of the better coaches in the country and knows exactly what he's doing.
He’ll never leave Gonzaga. Why would he? He has been the coach there since ‘99 and has been on the staff there since ‘89. sadgator was blown away when he looked it up and discovered that Gonzaga has never missed the NCAA tournament with him as head coach...other than the year that was cancelled...astonishing...It was good to hear a coach acknowledge the other team and give them their due. Do you think he would like sunny central Florida as opposed to the rainy northwest?
Dang, that is impressive. Still remember when they beat us in the tourney. He’ll never leave Gonzaga. Why would he? I agree. His competition in the west has really improved. This was their best shot.Few is a darn good coach that will IMO likely never win a natty at Gonzaga. If he really wanted to win a title he would have left awhile ago.
Well, it's one of those things. Other teams in that conference now say "come here and you get to play against Gonzaga", which is bringing up the quality of play in the conference. Which may not sound like much, but is better than the old saying for WCC teams, which was "come play for us, we have scholarships available".I agree. His competition in the west has really improved. I was mostly referring to the improvement in the PAC-whatever.Well, it's one of those things. But you were commenting on my post. I was simply clarifying it.Yes, and i'm saying that Gonzaga has brought the conference profile up and so the other teams are getting better players as a result.
