First time sadgator has enjoyed looking at orange pants...particularly on little #52.
They've blown it 8 thousand times with driskels and kasey hills at the plate, same shit in every sport... can't ever score in ANY thing offensively, can't score on defense to bail you out in this sport...

No bats whatsoever if you ask me. Kvistad was a ghost, and the stuff they were swinging at the majority of the time was awful and the stuff they should have been swinging at went right past them for a strike......
well apparently pointing out the obvious makes you negative, the bats were gonna keep us from winning it all year against any team with bats and pitching.. and that's exactly what's about to happen, even to a 10 seed team lol... and apparently ou blowing it twice and one being an absolute fluke going 17 innings means that the offense was just fine... They had 20000 chances to end the shit in the bottom of innings and never even came close to getting runners in scoring position, they aren't good enough and were inevitably going to lose no matter how long it took, exactly the way it happened...

Perhaps the pitching is that good. My daughter plays select softball. There are plenty of times where we are rolling along until we come up against a pitcher or pitchers who are just simply better. Make us look bad. Happens in baseball too. Tough loss in a great game. The Gator girls came back from certain defeat twice. Unreal situations and yet you complain. Like the poster above me said.... don't watch. I will because these are the 2 best teams in the country.

Happens more than you realize, sad. Slapping and bunting are big parts of the game especially if you're trying to get things started. Not a big fan personally but it's how it is. Kids are being converted from right to left at 9 years old in an attempt to give them a closer to 1b advantage.
Just don't understand the negativity from some. We're in the national championship series for the 3rd time in 4 years. Oklahoma is going for back-to-back titles and have pretty much the same team that won it last year, plus a flamethrower pitcher they added to compliment the pitcher who was MVP from last year. It was a great game and they got 1 more big hit than we did. No doubt Oklahoma has more dangerous hitters throughout their lineup than does the Gators. But we've won the SEC title and are ranked #1 for a reason. Oklahoma was way underseeded by the NCAA and deserves to be where they are. But UF deserves their position as well. They won last night in a great, thrilling game. Let's see how tonight plays out. Goooo Gators!!!!
I don't watch much women's softball, this year is the first year I've paid attention, largely because of the posts on this board. But it looks to me like a lot of the batters squared to bunt are actually reading the defense. If the bunt action pulls the defense in, the batter pulls it back and swings away. If they stay back they bunt. It looks like there are not a lot of walks? So that may be the way they scratch to get baserunners on board for the power. Unbelieveable game last night. Have to give the Gators credit for continuing to fight.
I'm an FSU guy, but have no problem admitting you guys have the best softball program in the country. It's quite obvious. That said, I find the negativity from numbers quite entertaining. One would think UF is the bottom feeder in every sport if you went by his posts.

That game was terrific, other than the fact my team lost.
Bradley, our team will fake bunt to draw in the defense but also to honestly block the line of sight on the catcher's glove in an attempt to screw up the pitcher. Sometimes it works....sometimes you find yourself hitting from behind if the pitcher is dialed in. You are right though...not a lot of walks at the current level in OKC. Most of these girls can spin it.
Checked this thread in anticipation of numbers' meltdown. Wasn't disappointed.

Sad, we lost a boy at delivery about 13 years ago. Brutal time for me and my wife. The hospital had a ceremony a month or so later to remember all the children that passed at that hospital for a variety of reasons. They requested you bring a flower to place in a large vase when your child's name was called. I was tasked with going out and buying the flower to represent my boy. It was brutal. I stared at flowers for what seemed like hours trying to figure out wtf to do. It finally dawned on me that there would be mostly roses at the function and I wanted "Zach" to stand out. I bought a giant sunflower. To this day I literally double take when I see a one. We have sunflower art throughout our house. The lady Gators help with that in a good way. (Not trying to be Debbie Downer.)
I think it's probably pretty good tactics if it's used right. Particularly if you have an infielder or pitcher who struggles to make that play. I also love the fake bunt swing away. It's awesome to see a weak chopper go right by an infield playing in. It would probably be useful in the men's game, but the egos are too big. In MLB, players won't even bunt against a shift. There's probably three or four regulars in our men's lineup that should go up there looking to lay one down.
Slapping and/or bunting is good strat for a fast player. It works all the time and can put pressure on the defense to defend it right. Jus like a hot tho, it has to be executed properly.
Also it depends on if u think that batter can hot off the pitcher. Softball is diff with the way the ball moves so its harder to hit against great pitching. So bunting can sometimes be ur highest pct play

I think Walton, his staff and these players need this humble pie!!! I've said it 2 years sgo that UF needs to play more of their pitchers all year not just one. It caught up with them... Ocasio hasn't pitched much this year and I believe this is the wrong philosophy.
