DJ Lagway is 4-0 in games where he has taken 100% of the QB snaps. Anyone can see that he's special... and only God knows what our record would be if DJ had been our starter from Day One. But we can't second guess or cry over spilt milk... we can only get excited about finishing the season 8-5 with a big 4 game winning steak!
And if you want to see how GOOD this team is overall... just look at the teams who beat us. They're ALL in the Top 14 right now, and if Alabama loses a game and Texas A&M beats Texas and Miami beats SMU... they will all be in the Playoffs.
Mertz was an admirable, likeable kid... but clearly this team is light years better with DJ. WHO KNOWS how many of those 5 losses would've been wins if DJ plays the whole game?
Let's say Tennessee and Georgia.
That would make us 8-3... and in Playoff contention ourselves!

Do I think we could be EVEN BETTER in 2025 if Napier hires a new OC who can add some dynamic passing plays? Hell yes. Let's hope!
