OT: Sounds like we might have our first ISIS attack in the US

Wow..... I did not realize you all didn't have open carry. That concept is friggin foreign to me.... How the hell did that ever pass constitutional muster?

It is allowed while hunting or fishing, or directly on the way to/from hunting or fishing.

Florida is home to some very strange laws.

For example, putting a door that doesn't open out, away from your place of business is a third degree felony in Florida. How'd that law get passed? Some old people got trapped in a burning building and died because the first person trying to run out of the building in their panic kept pushing on the door which opened in, towards the inside of the building.

Another, having a walking cane with a red tip if you're not blind is a second degree misdemeanor.

Another, temporarily depriving someone of their property is theft. So if you find a $100 bill in a parking lot and pick it up thinking it was lost you are temporarily depriving someone of it and are committing a crime.

One more, if you go to a pharmacy to pick up your wife's prescription for hydrocodone and take control over the drug you are committing a felony because the prescription is not in your name. Yes, people actually get prosecuted for it.

Does "take control" mean pick up the bag containing the prescription and carry it home?

Man Who Allegedly Purchased Guns Used in San Bernardino Attack to Face Charges

Federal officials plan to file criminal gun charges against the man who allegedly purchased the rifles used in the San Bernardino, Calif., attack that killed 14 people, according to people familiar with the decision.

The charges against Enrique Marquez, a friend of one of the shooters, have long been anticipated. Officials said he bought the two .223 caliber rifles the shooters, Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, used in the Dec. 2 attack and again hours later when they were killed in a gunfight with police. The FBI is probing the shootings as a terrorist act.

Supposedly he admitted that he bought them for Farook because Farook wanted to avoid the background check, and to keep his name off the books.

That dumb ass. All he had to do was say he bought them for himself, and the decided to sell them to Farook when Farook offered to buy them.

That said, I think in California even private purchases require a background check. If so, he could be charged for not doing that, which I think is also a felony.

Well, I guess he said they were planning an attack a few years ago anyways....I am assuming he is coming clean trying to save his ass to whatever degree he can.

I am not sure, the transaction may have been before CA enacted background checks for private sales. Either way, none of their tyrannical laws saved them.

You are correct. California has them UNEEEVERSAL background checks them Democrats want. No gun show loophole in Californistan. For all the damn good it did them.
