I’m going to narrate this, so please forgive me for any typos or punctuation errors.
Let me start by saying I love the fact that we are having a 12 team playoff. I would much prefer 16 but this is a good start. I am just unhappy that the gators will not be part of it.
Over the last week, pundits have been complaining bitterly about which teams are gonna get left out and which teams are going to be included. There seems to be the most noise around including three loss Alabama and excluding two loss Miami, both of which would be perfectly fine with me.
I feel like we kinda have to look at this like the college basketball playoff a.k.a. March madness the idea is to find the best team at the end of the year so preference should be given to teams that are playing well down the stretch.
I have no issue with the three loss team making the playoff. Number eight SMU came in with a lot of hype and as of right now they are losing badly to Clemson before the half 24 to 7. I am reminded of what our Florida gators with Tim Tebow at the helm did to undefeated Cincinnati in our ball game with them.
Anyway, just looking forward to seeing some really quality college football the rest of the way and seeing how this new playoff structure all shakes out. Hopefully we will be right there in it next year …
