I was in Portland this weekend. What a clusterfvch.
Tell us your thoughts. Did you get a feel that Portland is sick of it all or are they mostly behind the mayor and gov.?
I actually stopped and talked with a group trying to fire Gov Kate Brown, but that was south of Portland (down in Salem). They were acquiring signatures for their recall petition so obviously they were sick of it. The few strangers I made small talk with about the lawlessness were sick of it... also sick of the Mayor and the Governor. I saw much more homelessness than last time I was out there last year. Also many more younger people in tents... most underpasses and exits on I-5 downtown had tent villages... some actually clean and well kept but most trashy. I found myself keeping my head on a swivel like I was back in Iraq (I was a contractor btw, not our great military). Sorry if I rambled.
As much as I see the Portland residents wanting so badly to restore what was once a great city, the only problem remains, most likely they will vote in another Democrat in place of Governor Brown and Mayor Wheeler who will definitely be worse. Look at what's happening in Chicago when they voted in Beetlejuice to replace Rahm Emanuel.

Minorities are protected by a set of rules that limit the powers of governments.
