Opinion wanted: Should the gov't again extend the deadline for getting the Real ID?

For me in VA it has already been extended for years.
At some point the deadline has to be the deadline, or it's just a suggestion.
I agree with you but do you think Trump will suffer the blame for the projected chaos at the airports?
Probably, however extending the deadline would not stop that. They blame him for breathing....
I don't give a crap if people are denied boarding an airplane because they were irresponsible enough not to do what they were supposed to do with YEARS of warning. But what does and will piss me off is how the chaos at TSA lines caused by those people will cause delays or worse for all the responsible people who have complied.
It just compounds my belief that I am living in an ever increasingly DUMB country with more and more people who know little of importance. Just look at public so called education and national test scores.

Cat--Of course he'll catch flak but he has bigger problems. The Tariffs have hurt him, stock market declined, food prices aren't going down, and his decision to inject himself in the Ukraine mess is causing him a major headache. To add more misery his approval rating is sliding down. Of corse all of the above especially food prices aren't his fault but worrying about Real is a no go. States have had 20 years to get that done.
I think you may need to check your facts much better than you have my friend. First of all.....he is not up for re election, so letting short term polls influence your actions are VERY democrat partyish. Please go recheck food prices....they HAVE gone down. Secondly on this subject...what were you expecting....pre 20% Bidenflation prices? Show me other than during covid when prices EVER receded like that. (hint: NEVER). Thirdly....there is no rewards for halftime victories. The Russia-Ukraine situation is ongoing. Give it time...he HAS time. I am WAY, WAY more concerned where all the money we gave Ukraine to fight this war went. I am for shutting them off , and letting Europe solve this. Lastly, you did not even mention Iran/Israel which is EXPONENTIALLY more important than Russia/Ukraine to OUR Country. Why are you more concerned with Europe's problem? I can tell you with high certainty that our forces are on the highest alert to attack Iran if they do not comply. I can also tell you Israel knocked out their air defenses and they are not much of a threat from being attacked. If there is some reward for where we are TODAY...let me know what we are mising. I do not disagree with anything in this post. I DO believe the power of the left-wing media is trickling into many people's opinions that do not devour the news information. Trump knows this...and seems not to be concerned. So neither am I. Watch for a MAJOR announcement on Auto tariffs today! I have heard something big will be disclosed

No extension. Scrap the idea altogether. I don't have it and don't plan on getting it anytime soon. Maybe if I get a SD drivers license.

I have no idea where you reside but Florida has had the Real ID for years. Other states have just been laggards

I have zero idea what REAL ID is? I have no desire to fly to anywhere, but don't Florida driver's licenses now qualify for this? If not, I still do not GAF.

TN has had it for years. We renew every 8. It used to be 10. I would prefer some sort of lifetime deal but they want "current" pics and an address so they can track you. Dont get me started on LPR and all the fishing expeditions that cop go on. I was pulled over a few times for looking poor in a well to do area and for being too white in another. I never got a ticket. Heck I was just being frugal in running the car to over 300K. Faulty windows, missing running boards, missing hubcaps and no heat or AC. Thats fun when you are going to a client in 4 F weather. I accidentally broke out the back window with some equipment. That's when Bessie went to the junkyard.
I will probably do it in 2027. That gets me to 2035 before I have to tell the snoops my whereabouts again. I will probably build out a step van or box truck. I will have a home base but will probably be on the road more often than not. Most of the bills are in my wife's name and most all of them are electronic. So its a hassle to find 2 paper bills with my name on it. I signed up for internet, Sling and phone. They are eBills. Paper bills end up in the burn pile and everything is autopay except natural gas. They want ACH and I never give a bill my ACH.
I personally don't see the issue that some folks have with Real ID. I switched over to Real ID right before my license expired 4-5 years ago.
I believe the issue of election integrity is driving the adoption of Real ID, which I agree with.
