Three US senators were reportedly briefed by the Pentagon on Wednesday about recent reports detailing UFO sightings by Navy pilots.
The revelation,
reported by Politico, comes days after
President Trump disclosed that he too had been briefed on the
“unidentified aerial phenomenon” encounters. The information sessions were organized by the Navy and also included staff from the
Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, sources told the site.
Briefing requests by Congress members of key oversight committees have been on the uptick since it was revealed that the Pentagon’s shadowy Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) still investigates claimed sightings
of alien spacecraft, as was
exclusively reported by The Post last month.
Several US Navy pilotstold the New York Times that they reported to that program spotting UFO’s while training over the East Coast in 2014 and 2015. While flying at least 30,000 feet over the Atlantic Ocean, the pilots — who were stationed on the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt — told the paper
they routinely witnessed“strange objects” flying at hypersonic speeds performing maneuvers
“beyond the physical limits of a human crew.”
Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), the Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee,confirmed with Politico that he was at Wednesday’s briefing.
