From the time I was a small boy when there was only one game a week on television, the most important game regardless of record or opponent was the Gator game. We listened on the radio to Otis Boggs tell us that Florida Field ran north and south and that he was high above the west stands calling the action. To this day I never can understand when Gator fans say they are not excited about a Gator game or that they are not going to watch us play for example against Eastern Washington. We only get 13 of these most years. I understand that not every game is as meaningful as the nights we walked out of the SuperDome in 96, Glendale in 06 or Dolphin Stadium in 08. However, every time we take the field it is pretty damn special. Go Gators!
