Did you hear that Nick Saban said that A&M cheated and bought every player in its class this year?

Of course you did, because that's what the media told you happened.

But it didn't.

Saban is pointing out how NIL opened the doors to stuff like what A&M and Deion are doing. Soon everyone will be doing it and soon college athletis will be dead.

That was what Saban said. But saying 'Saban said A&M cheats' gets more attention, so that's what the media reports.

We are at a dangerous crossroads in our society where it has never been easier for the media to publish information, and at the same time, our public education system has never done a worse job of teaching critical thinking skills.

This is why the media can say that Hiden was the most popular president in the history of the nation because of 81M votes*, and sheep never think to question. This is why the media can say that Trump is a racist, despite him doing more for the black community than any President since Lincoln, and sheep never think to question.

He's not wrong. But Bama has played with a stacked deck since Bear Bryant walked the sidelines. Scolly limits finally retired him. ;)

College football will never be the same the way they use the portal and now NIL. It was a good run though.

Nick is 100% accurate with his statement but he was fine with the state of college football while he was winning titles every year. If he was really this concerned about fair play and collegiate sports, he should have mentioned this 25 years earlier. To remain quiet and do nothing is the same as endorsing unethical behavior.

That’s a good point I would have never thought to connect the Nick Saban media coverage and how that goes to Biden.

How do we stop the media from doing this stuff?

He’s not wrong but he’s bought and paid for players at every stop, every school has.

And this is why the media does what they do.

This was never about Saban's statement, this was about how the media misrepresented what Saban said in order to get clicks and eyeballs.

Remember when the media said Trump believes you can cure covid by injecting yourself with bleach?

Same thing.

Ironically injecting one's self with bleach was probably safer. Even though Trump never said that.

Even though Trump never said that.
Sigh. Of course he didn't. But years from now there will be dems convinced that he did, just like there will always be college football fans retelling how Saban once said A&M cheated and bought their whole class.

That's the point.

This wasn't the first time he spoke up.

The Ole Ball Coach chimes in

Was hoping one of our dem 'mean tweets' buddies would mention this. Spurrier steps in and as is customary, was a total d*ck and got in a dig on both sides.

But that's our ole ball coach! Besides it's just 'talkin' season', what's the harm???

But Heaven forbid Trump mention us throwing open our borders for shithole countries...

The Legacy Media is an enemy of The American People! They have been for decades!!!
This right here says everything. You cannot expect these fake news-types to be honest about anything they report. We just need to continue calling out their BS.

If any of you have access to Franz Beard's Thoughts of the Day, today on our paid forum, I HIGHLY recommend reading it. As usual, he covers this better than ANYONE. Has 16 of A&M's TOP recruits hometown, where and how long they were committed to other schools...and how almost ALL of them committed to A&M without as much as a visit. Really eye opening

That was Saban's point. Under NIL laws, that's fine.

The cat is out of the bag now, as Saban said, now the schools with the most money will get the best recruits.

BTW, that's Alabama. So for those of you that think Saban is bitching cause he is losing a competitive advantage, it's the complete opposite. This actually HELPS schools with big budgets and will CRIPPLE schools that are outside the Top 10 richest.

But in the process, it will ruin the sport. That was Saban's point.

Agree. We finished with the 2nd rated recruiting class. Did aTm cost us a 5* or two? Probably but this is much worse for Coaches not named Saban.

And I don’t think Saban is being a Saint here. Obviously he was doing great without the NIL but I do believe that he sees the dangers to college football (and college sports in general) from NIL if some restraints/restrictions aren't applied.

Saban will do what he has always done, he will adapt. Every time there is a change in the rules, he typically bitches about it, but when it comes time to adapt, Bama is still right back on top.

He sees where this is headed. Schools without the budget to buy players will bitch and then the rules will either be changed to accomodate them (probably not), or the teams that CAN afford to buy players will break off and form their own association.

And then the have-nots from that new group will bitch and new rules will be set up to accomodate them.

Maybe even.....like a draft?

Gee....has that ever been tried in football before?

Now you see why Saban is bitching. Because college football is about to die.

I hate to admit this, but I like this commercial while singing an Alabama classic.

Not sure what Saban actually said about Jim Bubba, but JimBlow has been selling snake oil since he was at LSU. He's also never been a fisher of men, not sure how many people he pissed off at FSU, but it was quite a few. He's a good recruiter, but he's ruined more QB's than he's made successful.

Is there a worse show on TV than Marty and McGee?
Marty is a sniveling kunt. I actually wrote Academy Sports and told them so. The NASCAR noosegate was the last straw. He's left of Bianchi and would be Stalin if a politician. 😂 Interestingly enough, Marty has not been seen on Texas based Academy Sports commercials since I emailed them. 😂

After hearing about how much that show with Jemele Hill sucked, I figured Marty and McGee is worse. It's sickening how Marty panders to the woke crowd.
Marty's dream date. 😂

Yes but if forced to choose, which do you hate less?

This is why I love college sports.
I'm for equality, and sorry, I left one out,,, FKS....

And just for the record, I've been against NIL and the no sit-out portal from the beginning.... If they want to get paid, then let them go straight from HS to the Pro's, so the Pro's can play for their training.

Not a big deal for me though, because sports mean less and less to me as the daze go by.... Socialist-U's and their paid athletes, along with woke ESPN are all on a path to destruction imo, so why bother....

Good offensive coach, great recruiter, can't develop QBs, questionable character and ethics, likely a cheater.

Come to think of it, surprised Tennessee didn't hire him as he sounds like another Fulmer.
