Nice win but stuff like this is why it's hard to get excited about next year

Yeah that's been a common theme. It's as if they have such a strong fear of rejection that they won't risk an offer.

“I would definitely consider Florida,” Rivals100 defensive back Asante Samuel Jr. said. “But they haven’t offered me. I can’t tell you why. They have offered DBs smaller than me and slower than me. They offer late, man. They get in late then it’s an uphill battle and becomes a hard process for them.”

WTH??

Here's a perfect example of how smart Rob Casssidy - Rivals usually is:
"and this year's team is No. 17 entering the Citrus Bowl vs. Iowa."

"to say that there hasn’t been at noticeable drop off in recent years is to be naive."

And that's a 'years long' deep hole that Mc is still having to dig UF out of. Those that thought that it would just magically turn around instantly are the most 'naive' and/or 'entitled' fans of all.... o_O

Mc started with a 90-something class with 6-7 commits that ended up at #21.
The second class went up 9 more spots from the first to #12. (don't use rivals)
His third class is --- NOT FREAKIN' HERE (NSD) YET!

Florida might have had a HC like a Harbaugh,,, (he recruits well)
Playing in the weak Big-Ten, not the monster-D SEC, genius hard-blow only had the #58 Offense. Iowa 14 - 13 Mich ---- UF 30 - 3 Iowa

Florida might have had Heisman QB Lamar Jackson for their bowl game,,,,
LSU 29 - 9 Jackson-UL

(but UF was out-recruited for him by UL) -- UF 16 - 10 @ LSU

And if only the Beast recruiter Meyer was still UF's coach things would be great,,, Clemp's-son 31 - 0 Urban-Liar-tOSU
(only 1 of Meyer's last 3 UF classes was in the Top 5)

So apparently those 'greener pastures' are not always....
Instead, Florida only has the Mc-Nuss cluster going forward,,,
(10-4 SECe-C - 9-4 SECe-C) UF 30 - 3 Iowa.

And if they can finally find their solid QB of the future -Franks-Trask-Allen then they will likely be solid for at least the Gators foreseeable future.

Ridiculous.

No offer to Harley or N'kosi Perry either.
McElwain won't win big here or anywhere else. Another Folly special.

There is no doubt Mac has been offering late. Gotta be something up. Not the first recruit that i heard say that.

"Almost half of Mc's 15 2015 commitments (7) came on NSD, including 3-star WR Antonio Callaway, 5-star DE Cece Jefferson and 5-star OL Martez Ivey. A day earlier, the Gators beat out Florida State and Miami for 4-star RB Jordan Scarlett."
==================

But hey, why would any HS recruit want to come to G'ville to become a 'life-time member of the mighty Gator Nation?' Well, not that many college players from anywhere ever go on to play football in the NFL, but the Gator Network is worldwide and it functions very well for their Grads....

However, since 1969, UF leads all teams in the SEC with 46 that did go on to the NFL. And that covers a lot of different coaches at UF and elsewhere....o_O
Bama is #2 with 42....

The NFL Playoffs continue this weekend with the AFC and NFC Championship Games and the Gators still have 4 former players on active rosters with a chance to make it to Super Bowl LI on Feb. 5 in Houston, Texas.

Atlanta Falcons - SS Keanu Neal & CB/Nic Brian Poole will go agains the Packers.

Pittsburgh Steelers - C Maukice Pouncey & OG Marcus Gilbert will go against the Pats.

The Gators have had a former player on a Super Bowl roster for 14 straight years, dating back to the 2003 season when OT Kenyatta Walker and OG Lomas Brown helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat OG/OT Mo Collins and the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII, and that was not the only time that both teams in the Super Bowl had a former Gator player on roster.

I rarely bother to watch No Fun League games any more, but maybe I will watch some this year if it end's up as the Falcons vs the Steelers.... ;)
