While we still have many, too many bowl games to go I am ready for next year.

Coming off a pretty good haul considering our circumstances the future looks bright for us. No Bowl game this year but that's allright (feel bad for the seniors though).

This year we have Clemson vs Alabama part three in the Sugar.

We have Mr. Heisman and Oklahoma vs Georgia in the Rose.

Only Alabama was expected because they have been for ten years now to participate. If we go back to August it would have been Alabama vs USC in the Sugar and Ohio State vs FSU in the Rose.

Ohio State and USC both finished in the top eight and won their respective conference titles. Ironically they will face off in what traditionally would have been a playoff semifinal in the Rose Bowl. They go to Dallas in the Cotton while the Big 12 and SEC champions are playing in Pasadena. Bizarro world.

My point is that outside of FSU , the preseason prognisticators weren't too far off in their top teams.

So if we fast forward to next August, who will be preseason darlings?

Fast forward to December and who is the Final Four?

Georgia will have to be on the list. Despite losing a lot of talent Smart has recruited lights out there the past 3 years. Michigan with their young talent getting a year or two under their belt and getting that QB transfer should be a top contender also.

I agree Georgia should be a favorite next year. Unfortunately it appears Kirby Smart may be a really good coach.

I don't see the SEC getting two teams in next year and I will never count out Alabama so most likely the winner of the SEC title game gets in and leaves a very good Alabama, Georgia or Auburn out.

The Big Ten will not be left out next year unless their champion is like a three loss disaster. Delaney will influence that after this year. He doesn't care if his champion is left out as long as one of his anchor horses get in. Ohio State, Penn State or Michigan should get in.

I have no confidence in the Big Twelve and believe Georgia will expose Oklahoma. They will be the P5 conference left out.

Clemson is my pick in the ACC although Miami and FSU should be a threat. Francois is a stud and Taggart should benefit from what he inherited. Miami is rising again, the only question is can Richt get over the hump and they need much better QB play.

In the Pac 12 I think it comes down to USC with Darnold deciding to come back. Stanford should be a threat and I have a hard time figuring out Washington although I do now reside in Arizona and can watch them. I just don't pay them any attention.

If I had to put pen to paper I would go with Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Stanford.

Alabama has Nick Saban, thats all I need to know.

Ohio State is the cream of the Big Ten and has top level talent just about everywhere. Their QB next year is a far more explosive threat than Barrett imo.

Clemson will be stout again and Dabo has proven himself as an elite coach.

Stanford because Caldwell is a great coach and if Darnold does leave I don't think there is a better option in the Pac.

Notre Dame was excluded because I just don't see Kelly as a good enough coach and Winbush is their QB.

ACC will be Clemson, FSU, or Miami. Im far from an FSU homer but we get Francois back and we literalky should have beaten Miami, UL, and Clemson this yr with a lank from Afirca who played blind and couldnt hit water if you drove him 50 miles out in the ocean. With Francois back, we have a solid chance but i literally dont have a clue what our offense or defense will look like i am going solely on the players, advantage Clenson

SEC, UGA. Jesus christ are they stockpiling players. I think they will be the new bama of the SEC, Nicky will retire or start to fade in the coming yrs.

Big ten- think OH st gets in. Its interesting tho because of what urban lost in recruiting this yr. Still think they are the best.

Big 12- OU will fall off dramtically, everyone else blows

Pac 12- can USC finally put it together?

So Clemson, oh st, Usc and UGA

UGA has 31 upperclassmen in their two deep, most of em seniors. They'll take a step back next year. It might not be reflected in the record though if the East stays as bad as its been.

But if I had to guess right now it would be:

USC (if Darnold comes back)
Ohio St. (I'm real big on Haskins and they should be loaded)
Bama (Kind've a rebuild year with lots of injuries and I think Tua puts Hurts on the bench and he's a much better passer)
OU (lose Mayfield but return a ton with a weak schedule)

ND is a darkhouse and Clemson might be too depending on how much they lose to the draft.

I can see all of your picks except Oklahoma. Mayfield is the heart and soul of that team and Lincoln Riley is still learning on the job.

As long as there are only four spots I think the Big Twelve is going to be the most likely to get left out. I don't know if they have the depth teams like Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State do to withstand losing their QB. Just my outlook on it.
