Just wanted to give you a heads up that Corey Bender has moved on from Rivals to launch a new Gator site.

Jason Higdon will be taking over here on Rivals and merging it with his 1stAndTenFlorida site.

This is all occurring as of 12/1.

I can tell you that things will likely be different. How different is anybody's guess.

Anyway, you will all find out what's up sooner than later. Change is always inevitable.

If either happens, you've been a solid mod here, made this board much more enjoyable than it should have been for the number of hooligans we are.

Yeah for better for worse, We all suspect changes are coming. The new Director of the site is known to be very heavy handed with banning people. And even though I don’t agree with a lot of you about Covid and personally just like a couple of you as human beans, suffice to say things are gonna change more like with the not whether we like it or not.

So I will also say now I wish you all luck and nothing but the best in case things change dramatically.

I am saying that the board may be different. It won't be nixed. My participation is an unknown quantity.

Thanks for your service here. I just saw this. This will be about the 4th or 5th regime change since I joined Gatorbait back in the 90's. Or at least I think that's what it was called. I believe it was run by or tied in with the Gainesville Sun back then.

He is very respectful of his relationships with the staff. There are things he will try to give info on but can't say outright at the time. He was very connected with the previous staff. We will see what happens as a new staff is put in place.

I have followed Jason since 06. I think it is kind of funny he has a rep as heavy handed. That is just wrong. The only people I really ever remember him banning were trolls from other schools that came to start trouble, and people that had accounts to get his inside info and take elsewhere. I remember when 247 merged w scout, and I HATED it. Now the situation has reversed itself, and we are coming over here to your house! But Jason is anything BUT heavy handed!

Not sure what might happen here but it's always a bad thing when crying to the mods gets rewarded. You usually will see people start getting banned because they didn't have the same thought process and/or views. Gator Country was like that if you were on the right. They could just make complaints to run you off.

Agreed. We have one poster here who is infamous for that. Hopefully the new guys will be smart enough to separate legit complaints from posters trying to 'get back' at people expressing opinions they don't like.
