Actually the GAP is staying about status quo. We just didn't eat into it much......except if Lagway turns out to be a stud QB......if that's the case he is undervalued and we have closed the gap.

For people who do not put ANY stock in to bragging about recruiting rankings WHO CARES? I mean no one wants to ever lose good players...but we KNOW we got 2 5 stars(maybe 3) and some VERY good players. So you do not get to brag...get over it. We got a generational player in Lagway...which is THE MOST important player on the team....QB.

Mullen had 7 more wins and 2 NY6 bowl wins. His worst season has been Napiers best thus far
Just because we landed some good players doesn't mean the good players that we lost don't matter, if that was true then why'd they get offered hundreds of thousands of dollars to come play here? You can make believe that losing blue chips in the 11th hour doesn't have a negative effect on your team but I like to live in what's called reality.
Wonder if Billy's value in intangibles (leadership, great people, family and character), he speaks about more than why they a going to great football players gets in the way.

You cant lose something you never had. I wish we landed some of the guys that flipped, but I think the roster is getting better. I choose to look at what we have coming in rather than spending any time thinking about the things that didnt shake out. The roster is getting better.
I suspect we saw more flips across the country than ever before in this ESD cycle because of NIL. We’ve landed a very solid class with essentially three 5* alphas in DJ, Myles and LJ. We added terrific receiver speed and Tight End oozing big-time potential. Both running backs appear to be special. Baugh is the big back we’ve been missing.
Meantime, the staff has added three transfers almost certain to start.

Good job to keep McCray at a much needed position. More like great job by Freeze and Auburn staff for nabbing 2 of our top DL in Williams and Waller, who have been committed to us for months.
Yeah and I’m upset about losing those 2. I have been very critical of this staff all day, but it’s still a big win for the staff to keep McCray from flipping and securing the #1 DL in the nation.

No. I feel like I am focusing on reality. Im focused on what we actually got. Not what I wish we got. Not what I feel that we deserve to get. What we got...in reality. Thats is what I focus on. To focus on what didnt happen is an exercise in futility.
Yeah Mullen was a good OC the first few years with Trask, Pitts and Toney and we outscored ppl.
