I am going to vote here with my wife and older daughter here in 100 minutes. It's been quite the ride over these past four years. I have often found this forum a source of very good (if not coarse) discussion, confirmation and challenge. To the latter, "steel sharpens steel".
I am voting for a very specific person and cohort of people. It's not Trump.
It's JD Vance
JD, and Vivek along with him, represents all that is powerful around the new-right. Incredibly smart, intellectually tough, caring, well connected and a guy you could easily hang out with. He's no Jeb Bush machine politician. (Trump's takedown of him is still phenomenal to watch)
It is also the intellectual circles around JD Vance: The All-In Podcast guys (love them), Vivek, Peter Thiel, and so many others.
It's also Rogan, Megyn and Musk.
The trifecta last night might actually give Trump his best shot for winning. Get out the damn vote.
Why: Illegal Immigration
Musk and in turn Rogan said it so powerfully. We are turning into parts of Mexico and Columbia. Look no further than Southern California. Even Mayor Johnson's constituents in Chicago see it - Hispanics are going to outnumber the blacks - quickly. They are taking up services, running up taxes ($300M+).
Why: Covid-19, Mandates, Inflation and Political Spend and the incessant lies and gas lighting
My daughter, my oldest, has mild autism. She was asked to leave a University classroom in September of 2021 because she would not wear a cloth mask. She said - politely: "But I am double vaccinated - why does it matter". The school, on the urging of some progressive art students, responded to complaints of her and her "lack of compliance". It turns out - of course, that Vaccines did not prevent spread, that lockdowns did not work, etc. She returned, but still scarred. And then you have the Lab Leak - where Fauci and others lied and covered up, with the help of the media and social media. Even Zuck admitted his regret.
Why: Because (and I agree with Kamala here) America is the best idea ever conceived
I love this country - like Captain Ron. I have found that I have tremendous pride - and I see it slipping away quickly due to the Progressive Left. I am part Jewish (25%). Protecting Israel, to Nancy Pelosi's comment and credit, was "the one thing that both sides fully agree on". Israel, in their attempt to get back 100 hostages and terrorists using civilians as Human shields, now routinely call Israel a genocidal nation.
To that end, I am proud to be able to submit my vote and make my voice heard. We all need to do the same - and hopefully, we can listen to each other, protect what is great and move forward building on the incredible precepts of the enlightenment in a more inclusive way with all of the energy and innovation that makes our country the best.
