Muschamp already on the hot seat...

Baffling for sure.

He gave the usual one liners at the press conference:

"I can recruit"

"We will be blue collar"

"It's a process"

"We wanna snap the ball more"
Translation: gotta own TOP

Saddest part is we still have to pay this loser!!!!

SOS's departure and the WM hire has already cost the cocks a recruit.

#27 DEws Jordan Smith 6-6 217 4.75/40 **** 82 - ESPN Top 300 List (213) - SCa flip

He chose between Tenn and UF, so the Head-BJ also cost tennis-sea a recruit.
GooooooooooMcElwain!

I still cant believe the irony. The South Carolina game was what broke the monkeys back for muschamps tenure here at Florida. Who would have thought that they would hire him just a year later?

I always thought the Muschamp was an agent for UGa. Instead, maybe he had a backroom deal with USC...'throw this game and we'll take care of you.'

...or maybe it's USC that is an agency for UGa!

This x1000. They just hired a guy that got fired a day after losing to them?? Hilarious. And not only that look in the way in which he lost that game against South Carolina in 2014.

the only thing hotter than the seat of that guy, is his head

no wonder south carolina has always sucked - and will do so again

“I feel like, if I’d hired Kurt in my first year at Florida, I’d probably still be there," Muschamp said Friday in an interview on Sirius XM College Sports Nation. "That’s the confidence I have in him and moving forward. I think he's an outstanding football coach."

I'll bet he also thinks that if the Gators could have won the TOP battle more often, he would be here as well.

Muschamp gets himself a quarterback and you know-it-alls are going to look very stupid--just as stupid as you're looking when you claimed Jameis Winston was going to be a terrible NFL QB (he might be a despicable person, but he's a helluva football player).

Next season is going to be a hoot.

Because if MacElwain doesn't find a quarterback then he's the one who's going to find his seat getting warm.

Meh.........if Spurrier couldn't get decent QBs I'm not concerned Muschamp will.

Muschamp doesn't have what it takes to be a good head coach. Even if he had a good QB. He's not a leader and doesn't know how to run a program. He's a DC. He's very similar to a Lane Kiffin.

Muschamp with a QB is like a monkey with a computer.

Muschamp also had plenty of opportunities to recruit a decent QB. He had 4 years. He also had a QB that just transfered to La Tech and threw for over 3500 yards and 24 TDs with a 3-1 TD/Int ratio under Skip freakin Holtz.

Myth.

Both have gone on the record to say that the claims by Message Board Heroes like you aren't true. Henry specifically stated Muschamp NEVER told him that he couldn't play tailback at Florida. He was originally committed to UGA.

All the recruiting geniuses had Collins going to either Florida or Miami. NOBODY said Arkansas.

PS How's Kevin Sumlin, Rich Rod and your other spread heroes doing these days?

Ghost, it seems you are attributing Muschamp's failures because he could not find a good QB.

Alrighty then.

Now who's fault was it that he could not find a competent QB?

The same fault it was that Meyer couldn't find a competent quarterback to replace Tebow?

The same fault it was that Mark Richt couldn't find a competent quarterback to replace Aaron Murray?

The same fault it was that Jimbo Fisher couldn't find a competent quarterback to replace Jameis Winston?

The same fault it was that Steve Spurrier couldn't find a competent quarterback to replace Danny Weurffel?

Competent quarterbacks are a dime a dozen you say? They grow on trees?

Well, alright then.

What's hilarious is every QB that transfered away from Muschamp did better at the school they transfered too. Driskel, Brissett and Murphy. Murphy even did better at BC with a Steve Addazio offense. That is just mind boggling to me and pretty funny that even Addazio has a better offensive philosophy than Muschamp.

Muschamp was given every opportunity to succeed here. He had a long leash at UF. Probably too long of a leash. He was even given another year after losing to Ga Southern and missing a bowl game. 28-21 in 4 years at UF just isn't going to cut it.

Binary thought is evidence of a simple mind.

The whole "Muschamp will be a great head coach" meme is kinda funny too. How many "expert" people said that before we hired him? A bunch of people from Texas and Florida, all very knowledgeable about football, said that same exact thing. We saw how that worked out.

In fact, during the 4-8 debacle, I went on record with saying I thought Muschamp would make a good to great HC someday. But somewhere not named Florida. We do not have the patience I thought it might require for him to mature. I think oozie and a coupla other guys opined the same thing.

Now, I am not so sure. The guy seems completely tone deaf as to his behavior and the negative impact he has on offense. One need only look at his recent sideline behavior, and his response after it happened for proof of that.

But, he gets the chance to prove everyone wrong. At a place Spurrier took from mere mediocrity to pretty good for a period of 3 years out of 9.5. (By USCe standards, eleven wins is very good. Doing it three years in a row is great.)

Muschamp has one advantage Spurrier never had. When Spurrier wants to recruit, he can be very good at it. He just did not often want to put the effort into what is needed. His three 11 win seasons were the result of him getting off his ass and hitting recruiting hard for a brief period of time.

Muschamp does not suffer from that. He is a pretty good to great recruiter on the defensive side of the ball. He brought some decent offensive guys in, but no one stellar, save perhaps Grier. He probably will do better at recruiting that Spurrier. But he does have a resurgent Clemson in his backyard, competing for the same guys. Spurrier was a much better coach than Muschamp will ever be. It remains to be seen if Muschamp can stock USCe with talent enough to overcome his coaching deficiencies.

I think Muschamp is an immature goof ball. We will see if he can make the most of his second chance.

Well the hindsight about Muschamp is certainly being beaten to death. I knew he could recruit and was always going to field a dominant defense, and with the talent in Florida it's not far fetched to have believed he could at least field an offense that got a few first downs that would make Florida a championship competitor.

He messed up on a lot of levels, because it's not as hard to be good at Florida as he was making it look. See Mcelwain already for example

Meyer actually recruited and signed Tebow. In his second year.

The same fault it was that Mark Richt couldn't find a competent quarterback to replace Aaron Murray?

Richt actually recruited and signed Murray

Fisher actually recruited and signed Winston. In his second year.

The same fault it was that Steve Spurrier couldn't find a competent quarterback to replace Danny Weurffel?

Spurrier actually recruited and signed Danny. In his fourth year.

Competent quarterbacks are a dime a dozen you say? They grow on trees?

Every coach you mentioned managed to somehow find one, recruit one and sign one.

Well, alright then.

Indeed. Thanks for making my point for me.

You have a bizarre definition of competent. Two of Jimbo's quarterbacks are in New Year's Six games. Meyer had a bad year in 2010, but he could at least point to losing his backup, a future overall number one pick. Spurrier finished in the top five in '97 and '98. And Richt was fired.

who is the other QB in the playoffs?

We're not in the playoffs, but the Peach Bowl is a New Year's Six game. Coker left because he was offered the chance to start right away on another playoff team. Winston only played two years, which probably wasn't expected in 2012. Losing a quarterback ahead of schedule to the number one pick, losing the other rising junior to Alabama, and still having a quarterback that could get us to a major bowl game isn't the result of poor recruiting, planning, or development.

If McElwain goes 28-21 in his 4 years he will get fired just like Muschamp. Muschamp was given every opportunity to be successful here at UF. He didn't get the job done. It wasn't just his lack of QB recruiting that got him fired. It was multiple things.

Revisionism.

FANatics go to revisionism as their first line of defense.

Typical and predictable.
