Murkowski and Collins vote no on Hegseth in test vote, but Pete

Time to get rid of these two *******. Tell me when you look at both you do not see democrats? They are ugly like lefty women. And stupid too.
Collins comes through once in a while like the vote for Kavanaugh but I don't understand how Alaska can't or wont get rid of Murkowski. She's awful.

Austin served in two wars, commanding soldiers to do the fighting.

Hegseth served in those same two wars....as a soldier doing the fighting.
Lloyd Austin displayed very poor and frankly very disturbing behavior by secretly putting himself in the hospital without Biden knowing it and without even letting the deputy know it. That is not very responsible.

Let me introduce the Afghanistan withdrawal, recruiting numbers and the overall mood in our military to you
I wish one day you can have a real conversation. Afghanistan happened AFTER confirmation. So, BEFORE confirmation, what about Hegseth resume is better than Austin's? Austin has a better resume, so calling him a DEI hire doesn't fit. Just seems like you guys like to use that word anytime the person is black or a woman.

He also was confirmed 93-2.

I've already answered you. Both Hegseth and Austin served in two wars. The same two wars.

Austin served as a commander ordering soldiers to do the fighting, and Hegseth served as a soldier that did the fighting.

Hegseth has combat experience, Austin has desk experience in combat. Easy win for Pete.

How is he a DEI hire?

Just looking at resumes, Austin resume is better than Hegseth for that position.

Yeah, he might’ve been better qualified on paper but he damn sure didn’t get good results.

Our military is ridiculously top heavy with generals. We promoted to get out of the way. It’s an industrial complex and it was never meant to be.

This is a PERFECT situation to prove a resume means ZERO when hiring someone. Austins resume is INCREDIBLE...yet he is the worst Sec of defense we have ever had in America. Hegseths is shallow..and as a REAL American, I believe he will be one of our best ever. F a resume. I have hired people for well over 3 decades. Resume's get you in the door. Interviews get you hired

See Capt I agree with you about resumes but the right pushes a narrative that someone is a DEI hire when they lack a resume and they are a DEI hire when they have the qualifications. Which one is it?

But how does that make him a DEI hire?

You missed my post right below the one I quoted. But as bad of a job as he did..he still MAY be a DEI hire. He may have been promoted his entire career because he is black. Looking at the resume...NO. However looking at the results as SECDEF...YES. He has a storied military career. To me the most impressive thing on it is being awarded the Silver Star.

I didn’t say he was a DEI hire
Don’t confabulate other people’s arguments

Thanks for a mature explanation. I just struggle to see why he is DEI. He could just be a crappy qualified SECDEF regardless of race.

AGAIN...you missed my post where I said I was wrong. That MAY make you stop trying to prove that point. By looking at his resume...he is not. However looking at his results makes me think 100% he has been promoted WAY above his abilities, and could be a DEI hire

I'm not trying to prove that you were wrong and yes I didn't see your post saying that you were. I was just confused about this overall assumption of calling minorities and/or women DEI hires from the right. To automatically assume that they are DEI hires but give white men the assumption of completely qualified is sad. At the same time, that's how America was built and molded.

I know it's not you, it's the right leadership making you repeat that nonsense.

Jesus Christ....that is NOT what I did. I looked at his poor performance and called him a DEI hire. I DO NOT CARE what color someone is. I care about their job that they do. DEMOCRATS care what color people are and prioritize THAT over ability to do the job. When I looked at his resume is was IMPRESSIVE. However after even more thought, the proof is in the pudding...not the resume. He was THE WORST Sec of defense in my lifetime. Was it because of his ability...or orders from above? I think BOTH. The military I KNOW about. I have lived in one of the largest military communities for 6 decades. My wife retired from the AF. ALL my friends, their kids, their parents are tied to the military. People were leaving in DROVES because of the DEI BS they were forced to do. Mask mandates. Vaccine mandates or be fired. ALL under Austin. Sorry.....I do not care if he was green, he was HORRIBLE and it makes me wonder if he go to where he is BECAUSE he is black. And lets not forget about the ONLY person to be disciplined about the horrendous Afghanistan withdrawal, a Colonel who called the Generals out. Not the IDIOTS who closed the air base..the biggest place where we could protect and project power BEFORE evacuating our people and equipment. And having the bomber at abbey gate IN THE SNIPERS SIGHTS...yet would not give the kill order.

Have you ever called a white man a DEI hire?
