Coach Mullen -
"Travel parties right now, look at one thing, in a normal year, right, the visiting team has 70 players and the home team has 80," Mullen said Saturday. "This is a year that should be corrected, that both teams should at least be equal with the opportunity, because you might be having to sit guys out for games, you know what I mean?"

From the SEC Rules page:
The home team may dress all eligible student-athletes in uniform, but only 80 student-athletes may participate in a Conference contest.
The non-participating student-athletes shall dress out at no additional cost to the institution. Non- participating student-athletes shall not receive pre-game meals, overnight lodging or additional game tickets, but may receive a post-game meal provided the post-game meal is served at the stadium. No cash stipend may be provided to non-participating student-athletes for post-game meals away from the stadium.
The visiting team is limited to a travel squad size of 70 eligible student-athletes.
The squad size limit for neutral site games (no more than one game annually) is 70 eligible student-athletes for both participating teams.

IMO, the restrictions on non-participating student-athletes even more perplexing !
Post-game meal (at the stadium) is OK; but a pre-game meal isn't ! WTF ?

I feel like the sidelines during a game may be one of the places for a player or coach (don't forget about the coaches, they are older and more at-risk) most likely to be exposed to the virus. Too many players, coaches, etc even with the lengthening out to the 15-20 yard lines. I would limit active/ sideline rosters even more. Walk-ons and other "non-active" roster players can sit in designated stadium seats behind their teams' bench.

I disagree with him here. If someone is sick they cant play so dont bring them. 70 is enough

70 is fine, but that should be all the home team can dress (have active) as well. Then it's even for everybody.

While i agree, i dont think having 10 players more is an advantage. Typically you dont play your 71st best player hardly ever. After the top or 50 or 60, its pretty much a wash because now you are talking 3rd and 4th string

The experience one gains being on the sidelines of a game, the travel, the road game preparedness, etc will be missed. Nothing huge but it's still a missed opportunity.
