Did you happen to notice what Ghosts first ideal of the Red State is?

I went back and will need more clarification. Mostly what I read was a montage of MTG tweets. What in particular is the grievance? There are many noteworthy points, just not sure which one irks you. A lot of her points are spot on, though they'll never come close to being cured.

I think a lot of people are missing the boat and thinking this is about a civil war. About some states leaving the union.

IMO, it's about reclassifying the role of government. For the last few decades, we have watched the left use Executive Orders, and activist judges on the Supreme Court to make policies FEDERAL that should have been left to the states.

Abortion should have never been mandated at the federal level.

Gay marriage should have never been mandated at the federal level.

Taxpayer dollars from Florida should not be forced to fund riot cleanup in Minneapolis after that city votes to defund its police force.

Each state should have far more individual control over enacting policies that reflect the morals and values of that state.

Policy creation and implication should shift away from DC, and back to the states. The President's powers should flow back to the individual governors. Not completely, but governors should have far more power than they do now.

The government's first job should be to maintain structures that are necessary at the federal level, such as the Department of Transportation. But policy making, especially any that reflect social and moral values, should go back to the individual states.

The morals and values of a 60-year old woman in Pensacola are completely different from a 20 year-old in Portland. So both states should have the ability to create and implement policies that reflect their state's morals and values.

In fact, looking on ALL of social media, I've only found ONE dem that wants to do this. A dem wrote a column for USA Today saying he wants a national divorce, and his main rationale in favor was, "we will get the Hollywood celebrities" lol

Based on what the dems have always claimed about the right, about smelly Trump supporters and how America First is horrible, they should all LEAP at the chance to be in a state where their lefty policies are given free reign.

I seriously don't understand why dems aren't falling all over themselves to make this happen. @LizardGrad89 @sadgator @bradleygator @Illegal-shift @RayGravesGhost help me here. Why aren't you guys on board with this?

Just today I'm reading NYC is up in arms about the city getting ready to enact tolls inside their city limits to cut down on traffic. The comments are hilarious. I love this idea because it would be a big step toward removing identity politics from the political process and make elected officials accountable for the functions a government should be serving: public safety, infrastructure, managing international relations for your citizens’ benefit.

It wouldn’t have to be a civil war. Could be relatively easy travel, trade and work visas back and forth. For people who don’t want to get trapped on a side they have serious philosophical differences with, there could be means-tested relocation assistance and a period of pre-separation free travel and relocation.

Establishment politicians on both sides are scared enough to bring out the civil war rhetoric because they depend on identity and party politics to divide people.

This is about decentralizing power. Siphoning power from the federal level in DC, and redistributing it to the states.

If DC has all the power in the nation, that's a HUGE problem. Anyone thinking clearly can easily see that.

That's why we need to empower the states, at the expense of the federal government.
