How many people would like to know when their life ends and by what measures? I preach at prisons and individually to Death Row inmates and I tell them that they are blessed with knowing when their life will end. They know how they will die and exactly what day/time they will expire without suffering or agonizing torture that they once perpetrated on their victims. I also remind them that they have time to accept Jesus into their heart and ask for forgiveness/remission of sins. If you have a minute to spare you are blessed beyond your worth. So, what are you waiting for? Tomorrow may never come.
God Bless

I took many looks at this post. I am not afraid to die. Then I looked at what was said and my habits on earth. Still not afraid to die. The I looked at the most precious people I would leave behind that love me to the core. That is when I got scared. Scared of their well being was my first and only thought.

When someone tells you they're not afraid to die, they're either lying or they're a British Ghorka mercenary.
Emotions are hard to pinpoint with words.

I’m scared of the girl in The Ring and how she climbed through the TV. Is that the same emotion as when I think about dying?

I also think context matters. At 43 I can understand more now how my grandmother went on a hunger/fluid strike when she had a major stroke in the hospital at 93. I was mad at her at the time, but she was done. Her body gave out and she embraced whatever the next chapter holds.

I coach HS Lacrosse here (an amazing sport) and we have a 15YO with a terminal sarcoma. Three weeks ago he made the call himself to avoid a terrible surgery that only had a 15% chance. He’s helping us coach and inspiration to everyone he meets. He tells us he isn’t afraid of the next step...so should I be?

It’s a rhetorical question obviously, but it’s one we all have to come to our own conclusion on.

Enoch was raptured without dying. Are we this righteous to expect the same fate?
I agree completely.

I like to suggest this realistic viewpoint - one that goes alongside Paul. Three times he requested to be freed from the thorn in his side and God said, "My grace is sufficient." No one knows what that thorn of suffering was but regardless he suffered plenty. He suffered his whole life. Why are we any different? Many Christians seem to be so pious as to think being Christian is a golden ticket to heaven by way of rapture before all hell breaks out. That's so stupid. IMO. There's going to be a lot of Christian suffering before any rapture occurs, if it even occurs.

Kid is a warrior and deserves to walk with God. We need more people like this.

I only fear God...nothing else on this earth.
Romans 8:31, NIV: "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
When I saw NIV I wanted to run from this post. I only read from the King James Version.

I own KJV Bibles and preach exclusively from them but for the broad stream Christians, I post NIV verses to accommodate American-English language learners.

Are you familiar with this radio show? I've started listening to it if it's on while I'm in the car. Very interesting and learning a lot from it.

But if you do not include the meanings of all the languages meant. For example (Greek) Different meanings of words from NIV to KJV. Changes the meaning in context.

No, Sir. I am a student of many theologians through the Sunset International Bible Institute and will definitely listen to that broadcast. I'm all for community strengthening through Christ. It is really our only hope.

Putting religious reasons aside, unless your health was spectacular into old age, your quality of life would likely be terrible at death. Who wants to live to say 100, and spend the last 10-15 years with almost no basic functionality?

Lets say you could live forever at age 30?

Dying is the worst. Absolutely hate it... Wish i could stay alive for ever

Also I dont believe in the rapture. It is told in Revelation that we have 7 seals, trumps, and vials.

The Left goes apeshit with only 1 Trump, can you imagine how they would react if there were 7 ?

You would outlive all of your friends/family and be on earth ruled by Satan while saved souls are in paradise for eternity. The earth will be purged and a New Earth will emerge but anyone not part of the covenant will die and be sealed in a pit.

Im fine with that. Altho i would add that i dont think i would live in a put, just the new earth. Outliving friends and family is ok with me

1 Thessalonians 4:
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

If this is the second coming why are we caught up in the air? Just to immediately land for the battle of Meggido?

1 Thessalonians 5:
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Christians are not immuie to suffering . The Tribulation is God's wrath. We are not appointed to suffer His wrath.

The rapture is a modern term used to describe this event "shall be caught up together with them in the clouds"

In this event, we will be in our spiritual bodies for the battle.

Just as I turned 18, I joined the military and after boot, I volunteered for duty in VN.
At that young age, I had already confronted death and was not afraid of facing it again.
"You and me Lord...."

A few years ago I had a major heart attack, nearest hospital was/is 30+ miles away.
I had waited over an hour before calling 911, not realizing that it was a heart attack.
I heard one of the men who arrived and wired me up say to another, he likely won't make it to the hospital in time. On the trip, without thinking about it or planning it, I spontaneously began saying the 23rd Psalm, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."

The tech reading his machine mumbled to another, "I ain't believing this chit," as I stabilized. Obviously I made it to the hospital, had a stent installed in my heart, and was in ICU for about 36 hours. Against medical advice, I left the hospital one day after leaving the ICU, and have never been back for my heart, (8 years ago). I make no claims on the how or why things went as they did, but I'm not afraid of dying, I'm almost looking forward to seeing what the next chapter of existence is like in the INFINITE UNIVERSE.

I decided a long time ago that it's not when you die, but how you live before you die that matters.
I'd rather die on my feet, than live on my knees. -- "Give me Liberty, or give me death."
