Case 0 in China may have been on Dec 1 and not Dec 30th. Also patient zero had no connection with the seafood market. That market supposedly does NOT sell bats. This virus has bat origins. This pushes the initial infection sometime into November. If the cases in NY came from Europe then it had come into Europe from China much earlier. Supposedly the first case in the US was Jan 21 in Wash St.
Documentary below claims that virus definitively came from a lab. I am skeptical but they make a compelling case.
