Mid-American conference cancels 2020 season

Big 10 presidents meeting today. As of now no padded practices conference wide and Wisconsin has canceled all practices until Monday. Season may be in jeopardy in the upper Midwest.
The MAC is doing it because they lose money or break even at best.
the money for the P5 is huge. And let's keep in mind, the powers that be have been discussing this for some time, there's a reason everyone got on board with playing in conference.

I just don’t see the SEC and some of these other big conference’s canceling. Too much money involved.
European soccer is in full swing - no fans in the stands, MLS - same thing, UFC is fighting every week, MLB is playing - I'm sure there's a difference with an 85 man roster of 20 year old kids but I can't see a good reason for teams not to play, assuming the money is there.
This was a financially driven decision. And candidly a good one. As mentioned above it costs roughly $2m to conduct a season. With no big pay day games and no giant TV contract the MAC schools were going to lose bit dollars.
For sure - the MAC really had no chance after the Big 10 and other pulled to only in-conference games.
What I don't understand is why any of the big conferences would even think about not playing, given what I wrote above.
Bro I did a job that some guy is going to San Fran today for major surgery...they will have his test back that day. I was working another job at a nursing college... they just checked their temperature
We use pads today lol big 20 run by potato heads... These smaller conferences are not playing because they lose money if they cant play bigger programs...
I'm getting more skeptical about college football happening. However, I agree about the money issue. The lesser conferences make their athletic budgets by getting big checks for playing at P% stadiums. That income has been taken away for 2020. The P5 schools need the football revenue to fund all their other programs. Without it, they will face huge deficits. So I see them making every effort to play their seasons. But the media and PC pressure to shut things down is very strong and I don't know if they can withstand the heat. Common sense is really not a factor right now.
