Meanwhile on the recruitin' front...

Great pickup. Our WR class is probably the best in the nation, with the possibility of getting Stewart and Evers as the QB throwing to these guys. Billy G doing work there.

#7 WR Jayden Gibson 6-5 185 **** - Natl. 170, Winter Garden, FL
He committed and says that he's shutting down his recruiting.
Welcome to the SWAMP dude....

Speed and height with those 3 WR commits.
A great 3-man group already.
Get the other one that's on the board and it would be a stellar group.

The trenches on both sides of the ball is where we've been really lacking in elite players for quite a while.
What goes around comes around. This is the same issue we had back in the 50's 60's 70's etc. It's no coincidence that we got hammered by the NCAA in the Pell years at the same time we built "The Great Wall of Florida". There has always been a premium on big men, and while some schools have been allowed to pay this premium with impunity, others have been bitch-slapped for giving basketball teams a tour of the football facilities.

This is not to say we've never gotten any great players on the lines, but where we'd work hard to get a solid starting group with young players as depth (and crossing fingers for no injuries), other schools we play regularly would be 10 deep.

Final Four - UF - UGly - SCa - Mia

==========

Polite, Zuniga, and Greenard were 3-stars,,,, that are all now in the NFL.
(also had 5-stars busts that went undrafted)

Polite finished his UF career with 78 tackles, 26.5 TFL, 15.5 sacks, 8 FF's and 4 PBU's in 32 games played…

Zuniga finished his UF career with 118 Tkl's (54 solo), 34.5 TFL and 18.5 sacks in 42 game appearances.

Greenard appeared in 38 games over his collegiate career, recruited to UL by Todd.
He played his last 12 games for Grantham at UF, after being a Grad-xfer from UL….
He finished with 122 total tackles, (64 solo), 19 sacks, 3 Ints, and 4 FF's.

The 2022 Gator Recruit Commits so far per 247:

#22 OT Tony Livingston 6-4 260 ****
#45 OG Jalen Farmer 6-5 325 ***
#105 OT David Conner 6-6 270 ***
BTW, the 1st Rnd Pouncey twins were both 4-stars, not 5's.

#36 DT Tyrone Tuesdell 6-3 325 *** AU Grad-xfer, playing now.
#49 DT Jamari Lyons 6-4 295 ****
#73 DE Francois Nolton 6-4 225 ***

But personally, I don't care what some outside service rates them, nor do I care where they go in the NFL draft, although I wish them well. I only care that they meet the 'Gator Standard' to stay out of trouble and play well while they are at UF.

However, each to his own opinions when it comes to recruiting....

Same here and although we have a good OL class right now we expect Bah and Woody to both flip. Also Williams is from Mississippi and will probably end up staying....yay. I think having elite d lineman and o lineman is plaguing most of the Florida teams right now. You guys are just getting players like this and we are not

O line is playing fairly well this year.
When your team is third in the Nation in rushing yardage and tenth in total offense…it’s safe to say your offensive line is doing an “ok” job….

Remember under Mus when our total offense was ranked in like the 90’s and everybody blamed the QB’s. Funny how we don’t really blame the QB’s for lack of offensive production any more….hmmmm….

Yep. No complaints about O line so far. We had Muschamp then Butters.....offensive dark ages.

I miss those days. I remember going into a game at home when you guys had a guy start at QB who I had never heard of before and I believe it was his first game ever, I remember thinking, if we score 14 we win..... I miss those days. Now I just hope it stays within 20

I mean....they WERE awful. Remember in 2013 when Driskel broke his leg and we had to deal with Tyler Murphy? And then he got injured so we turned to Skylar Morningwheg?

Skyler was only there to learn about coaching, Brian Schottenheimer in the 90s. Imagine if Spurrier would have had to start Schotty for a quarter or so of the season.

Wasn't it Cheese Burger Charlie Weiss that wanted us to sign Morningweg over Paxton Lynch? I know Paxton didn't become a NFL great but he was much better than Skyler.

Maybe Skyler's mom got him into school the same way Forrest's mom did.
Skyler’s father is Marty Mornhinweg. Marty has extensive coaching experience in the NFL and that was the connection with Charlie Weiss. It was basically a favor.
