Just read that Tebow's batting average is .163 and hes struck out 98 times in the last 77 games. Ugh.

You're married to a former Miss Universe and have a nice gig as an analyst. You got nothing to prove to me, buddy.

Tim Tebow's dream of reaching the major leagues is still a work in progress, but the New York Mets minor league outfielder is aiming to play in the World Baseball Classic in 2021.

Tebow, 32, is entering his 4th full minor league season with the Mets. In 287 games, he has batted .223 with 18 homers and 327 strikeouts. He missed playing last season due to an injured hand.

>>> He hit a home run in a spring training game against the Tigers on Tuesday.

The former Heisman Trophy winner will play for the Philippines in WBC qualifiers next month.

How? Tebow was born in Philippines in 1987 when his parents lived in the country as missionaries and moved to the U.S. just before his fifth birthday.

“I’ve just got such a heart for the Philippines,” Tebow said Wednesday. “I’ve just really had a love for the people for a long time. To be able to represent them will be really cool -- really, really cool. You don’t get a lot of chances to represent people or places that mean something to you.”

The Philippines are one of four countries vying for a spot in the WBC. They play the Czech Republic on Friday, March 20 in Tucson, Ariz.

I would have liked to see him accept at least the possibility if a position change. he could still be in the NFL, imo.

I'd be happy to see him in the XFL. Love the guy but no player not named Tebow would get a sniff at MLB with those stats.

He has time. He'll either make it, or he won't. Not a big deal for me either way.
Glad he's getting his chance to do it anyway.
What I know is that I'm not betting against him... ;)

The XFL would be great imo.
He has money and health. No need to have a potential injury playing in a minor league football league. Sure he could get injured playing minor league baseball but the chances are less likely long term.

Oh I whole-heartedly agree. It would be very unwise. just saying I love watching him play football. Bottom line...

Probably my favorite gator of all time (after graduation of course).......with Paco running a close second.

He finally crossed home plate. So let him be.

Frankly I find his devotion towards saving himself until marriage very commendable and honorable. My brother had the same focus....and I know his character well enough that he wasn't lying about it.

You rarely see people like that nowadays.

Agreed...he should have stuck with it...especially how the league is changing their offense. Baseball doesn't seem to be it. You're not making it to the MLB batting .168 (or whatever it is) in the minor league. I love Tebow but stick to calling games at this time...he's getting older and the football life might be over.

Football is certainly over for Tim. If he still wanted to ball he would have joined one of the spring leagues or gone to Canada.

As for baseball, there comes a time when you have to accept you can't hit the curve ball. The time has come for Tim. For me, it came at 13, but that's another story.

Yep he needs to hang it up in baseball. AA showed that. He started too old with too many years away from the game.

What drives me inane is it is feast or famine with him, he's either striking out or knocking it into the next field.

I heard his personal coach say that on his wedding night, Tim sent him a video of him taking dry swings to work on his batting....

Take that for what it's worth.

wedding night.

yep.

Tim's a big boy now and all growed-up, so I think that I'll just step back and let him do whatever it is that he wants to do, while I'll wish him well for it.

PS
I'm pretty sure that he don't GaS what any of us thinks about how he lives his life. o_O

Maybe now that he's doing some "knocking" he'll settle down.

If I would have waited to bat until I was 30 and had Miss Universe pitching, I seriously doubt any of my swings would have been dry.

If I had Miss Universe my first time at bat, Id be nervous.

I probably wouldn't do any practice swings but some pushups or side straddle hops wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

Some people juggle geese.

For what it’s worth if your first time ever is with Miss Universe he’s likely got plenty of time. Solid couple minutes then rest up, shoot an email off, then go after another two minute round of glory.

He went on a tear batting .450 and the batted .000 for 5 games...Feast or famine but chicks dig the long ball.
