...is gaining some mention in the Georgia Tech coaching search.
Just before 6pm Tuesday I got a call about McCall from a source in Atlanta.
It appeared that Tech were in good shape with Jeff Capel at one point, but that fell apart on them. Then they looked to be on the verge of hiring Bryce Drew from Valparaiso, but he now looks headed to Vanderbilt (there were some reports that Drew signed a deal with Vandy. Though I have heard that Tech made another counter offer.
I've also heard Pat Kelsey's name mentioned for the Tech job.
Then later Tuesday night I was told that Tech was meeting with Cuonzo Martin (Cal).
Whoever they hire will have to deal with an AAU situation that only a few other programs have to deal with (Georgetown, Maryland & maybe UCLA & USC come to mind).
Nice to see McCall's name mentioned for an ACC gig, but Tech is not an easy place to win.
