LSU is running completely different formations, 4 wide...

Vegas must know we are getting Del Rio back because the only glimmer of hope I see right now is that LSU is only favored by 1.5...

That is crazy but then again look at what happened in that Tenn game when thinking about lines.

Not imo. We are just too small on the D line. I would like to be wrong on that.

DE Bryan Cox 6-3 269
DT Taven Bryan 6-5 293
DT/NT Khairi Clard 6-2 319
DT Caleb Brantley 6-2 297
DE Cece Jefferson 6-1 262

Right behind them:

OLB Daniel McMillian 6-1 223
ILB Alex Anzalone 603 241
ILB Jarrad Davis 6-2 238
OLB Kylan Johnson 6-1 231

And right behind them:

CB Quincy Wilson 6-1 213
FS Marcus Maye 6-0 216
SS Marcell Harris 6-1 211
CB Jalen Tabor 6-0 201
Nic/Dime Duke Dawson 5-10 208
Nic/Dime Nic Washington 6-0 197

There is plenty of good size imo, it's the depth with experience that might hurt them.

Yep we are small and the one real big guy isn't playing that well.

There are many times we have Jefferson and 2 light DEs out there with maybe one other guy that actually has some weight.

Cece probably played better than everyone on the DL yesterday from what I remember without watching the film yet

He did make some nice plays but it is scary thinking our current D line has to hold up against LSUs running game for 60 minutes.

What you gain in lard-azz pounds, you lose in side to side speed and straight up quickness.
What would you like each position to weigh?

I use the 'official' GatorZone Bio's. They are either up to date and correct, or not...

Well Bama is known for being able to stuff the run if that is what their primary focus is. Do they have any 260 lb D Tackles playing a ton of snaps?

arkansas getting 13 points this week is great, hopefully it goes up to 14...

Sigh..unless Fournette or any other running back they have runs backward, we are gonna be on the field a long time defensively. We will be there but I have a feeling its going to be a quiet crowd after the 1st quarter. Noon kickoff. Ugh the wife will be sleeping in the Rover on the drive up Saturday morning..

~ UF is not Bama, and our HC has not been here for 8-9 years yet.

~ No, and neither does UF.
DE/DT CeCe 6-1 261 ***** is being forced inside because of current injury/depth problems.
However, he seems well able to play either position fairly well so far.

But you failed to address my lard/quickness point, and you failed to answer (what weight do you want) my question. o_O (your dodge-ball ain't workin') ;)

LSU is not a very good team, sorry, and Ed Orgeron is a complete joke of a HC, always has been, but yes, let's overreact because they finally played halfway decent for the first time all season!
Then what does that make the Gators if Orgeron and LSU beat you?

a team with bad coordinators with injuries and not any good overall, especially if Del Rio can't play the whole game.. read more posts on the board. If you lost to Florida that would actually be pretty bad given the circumstances right now and start putting O for head coach to bed early

etc.. and running out of new formations, more out of shotgun than they ever do and none of that same other crap from pistol and straight toss backs. Their staff is doing what they were murmuring about wanting to do now without Miles, with the way our DL is right now and how awful the staff was the last few weeks and lifeless.. If they don't get their s*** together LSU is going to have Davis and Anzalone blowed to hell and back in the open field chasing everyone by the mid 2nd quarter.

If they want any chance offensively Del Rio is playing there's no questions, even if he can't you cant put Appleby back out there.. you can see the driskel smell on his breath and the treon in his eyes, he's awful ill keep it plain and simple and nice, but he is.. Play calling, miserable and exactly what we were watching with the last staff, run with no creation obviously for losses with no plan and zero blocking, even if there was teams know when the run is coming and nothing is being checked off. They look exactly like the last 3 games last year for the last 6 quarters on offense and that's scary.. If Del rio can't go im sorry but you have to try to work in one of the other guys because you KNOW what you are getting from this QB against a defense as good as LSU's.. and that is NOTHING but negative.

Literally the entire season is on the line next week and why do I have the feeling that our staff will do nothing and change nothing like last year? Oh that's because we have already seen this, Del Rio better actually be decent or this year, recruiting and Mac are gonna start getting stale REALLY fast. It's already happening

and no matter what happens both coordinators have to go, whether you have to just move Shannon to DC from within or have more influence whatever it is ,that's gotta happen... that's even more important than the OC right now because we still have no QB play so we still can't tell long term how bad it is with an offensive minded head coach.. but on defense, im telling you right now we now know what we have, and it's not good enough. With our recruiting now, our calling card is starting to go to hell now which was my biggest fear and we will lose a lot of talent on this years roster for next year.. and don't break crapwith Collins running the same nonsense on defense bend but , he will get us beat at least 3 times a year from his scheme alone. Every time we blitzed today other than once they had no chance, but he's sitting there in 3 man fronts on obvious run downs and playing DB's off the ball with OUR secondary? That's trash, with our offensive woes if our defense becomes the same scheme as other teams around the country we will be doomed.

I don't know how you can criticize a defense that gives up 267 yds, 6 pts, no TDs, I don't care who you're playing. We had a makeshift DL, that's why they ran the ball on us as well as they did but they still didn't put the ball in the end zone

I think that they are going to run it down our throat...I HOPE that I'm wrong but I think that we are going to get pounded.

Hard to see it any other way. I could see us slowing it down for maybe a quarter but that is probably it. I think we won't get lucky and catch a flat LSU team since Miles got fired. They probably have Missouri game level effort this game also and their is too much of a talent difference in the two teams.

I think that we'll come to play but honestly the only game that we've played a complete is against UK and they are just terrible. Yeah LSU hasn't been that consistent either, we'll see what happens but with some of our experienced D Line out I think that it's going to get ugly for us as the game goes on. Imo our only chance is if LDR plays and the office is lights out and get get 2-3 turnovers and points off of them. I hope I'm wrong but after the last couple of games my hopes of seeing a consistent effort from this team is going away.

We can get turnovers, Collins is just gonna have to be committed to taking away the run though which we sometimes aren't (from an alignment standpoint anyway.) Get them into a few passing situations and who knows what can happen. But if they're getting 4 yards on the ground on their 1st down carries we're doomed. We won't ever be able to force them into any mistakes.

How big do you really need to be? Just Big of heart maybe? o_O

He played OL and LB in HS at 6-3 195.
While playing DE at UF, he put on about 10 pounds a year in the weight room.
He was also part of the 'testing group' for the development of Gatorade.
He was named to Florida's All-Time High school football team by S.I. in 1989.
In 2007, he was voted to the FHSAA All Century Team, and as one of the 33 Florida HS's All Time Greastest Football Players.

OL/LB Jack Youngblood 6-3 195 leaving HS.
DE Jack Youngblood 6-4 240 leaving UF.

The Rams have also retired his (85) number.

One of the athletic feats for which Youngblood is best known, is that of playing the entire 1979 playoffs, including Super Bowl XIV, with a fractured left fibula. He also played in the 1980 Pro Bowl with the injured leg, a week after the Super Bowl.
The NFL Network series NFL Top 10 selected Youngblood's performance in the 1979 playoffs as top on its list of the "Gutsiest Performances″ of all-time.

He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame
(and that list is only about 1/4 of his honors and accomplishments, look him up)

When Youngblood retired on August 27, 1985, he asked his career to be remembered for "dignity, integrity, respect and pride″

* Jack has also been consistently involved in charity work, starting in college, continuing throughout his NFL career, and remaining so today.

Not to bad for a guy that many thought-said was too small for the position....

Physical size on the field or court, really does not matter as much as the other traits.

Note: DE Jabari Zuniga 6-3 245 rsFr -- Already with 5 sacks as a backup.
