Oh yeah...without question, this is the last thing FSU needs at the moment.Originally posted by MJWilliamson:
FSU is smart about backing off this guy. The last thing they need is another media circus similar to what they have recently endured. As self inflicted as much of that was, it was still a major distraction and I guess they want to avoid something similar.
Besides, this guy is not likely to be a once in a generation kind of player. He is probably not worth it, in their minds.
They let the kid know a week in advance that we wouldn't offer. Plenty of time for him to let other schools know he
was available.
For Florida State, under the present circumstances, this was the smart thing to do.
Will it affect FSU in the future at Lowndes County? That kinda appears to be a 50/50 deal. The town is obviously
divided on this entire fiasco. Thus it could harm FSU by not signing him AND it could harm FSU if we did sign him.
btw...and I hate having to help ya'll out here, but many are moaning about the wrong thing. Maybe the drool is clouding
your thinking. (Not you, MJ). The question you should be asking is...Why did FSU wait so long before telling him?
You see, that's my question. That's the problem I have at the moment. That's a question that could hurt FSU in the
future at Lowndes County and all sides could agree on that. This isn't a knee jerk reaction. If FSU doesn't want him
under the present circumstances...no problem...that should have been explained to him two months ago.
Why wasn't it?
