LMAO!!! AOC tells us not to fear the unemployment that automation would cause

What do you propose we do about automation? Set limits?

According to your honeypot, we learn to love all the free time we will all have while unemployed.

Didn't your hero obama tell us the same thing? More time for reconnecting with old friends, walks in the park....

I'm aware of the theories about a "post-labor economy," and am skeptical of them. Do you have any thoughts on automation and its impact on the market for labor? Agree with AOC (at least your description of her position) that it's not a concern? Or do you have some concerns with human work being done by robots?

LMAO! You just can't do it, can you? You just can't admit that your honeypot is a moron, can you? Even when you get a layup, you just can't do it.

"Look, AOC can be a dumbass, but I think there's a larger point about the impact of automation on our workforce that's worth discussing..."

That's all you had to do. But any criticism of AOC is a bridge too far for you. I think it's hilarious, but remember, you don't see Republican vs Democrat :D:D:D

Low IQ AOC is a walking clown show. Shes blaiming tbe NRA for the 49 moose-limb killed in NZ.

She’s a national embarrassment

There are concerns, I should think...after some cities made $15 the minimum wage...some restaurants went full-speed with automation...so, I see concerns about what pressures can realistically be placed on companies to where the pace of automation might be more gradually phased in...or are their bottom-line and keeping the $hareholders happier the most important i$$ues for companies?

And where exactly does UBI fit into this discussion?...and will we hear more about it in this election cycle?...and where does Wall Street and the Federal Reserve stand on this?...money printing gone wild?

And since so many stores are being shuttered...just where do all the displaced workers go?...unemployment/disability?

Convenience has many upsides...and IMO, Facebook, Amazon, and other
related things such as cell phones and 5G have the noted abilities to "convenience" us into obscurity.

Classic liberalism......do something stupid (pass laws requiring $15 minimum wage), then when the market reacts (minimum wage jobs automate and layoff workers rather than pay them $15), liberals want to ask Republicans "What's your solution to this problem?"

My solution is that liberals should STFU and let the grown ups run things.

You think automation is a reaction to the $15 minimum wage?

For companies that can afford to automate. The ones that cannot will just eliminate positions or shut their doors.

None of these outcomes are beneficial to the workers the left claims to want to help, despite what your AOC claims. And all of them could be seen coming a mile off to any critical thinker with an even rudimentary understanding of business and economics.

Yep! So many who work at Whole Foods started becoming orgasmic over the $15 minimum wage till both the part time and full time hours were cut. Full timers went from 37 hrs to 34 while part timers hours went from something like 27 to 22. Of course, Whole Foods/Amazon is lying about it by telling us employee hours haven't changed. The hours I mentioned above are what I heard about the Whole Foods in Jax.

Yep, this has happened every time the local liberal politicians have passed laws demanding a higher minimum wage. Classic case of liberals thinking emotionally, not critically. Liberals get mad as hell over this issue of $15 minimum wage. If you point out that businesses will simply have to either cut hours, layoff people, or pass the cost onto the consumer (or all three), the liberals always respond with some form of "Oh that's bullchit! Those companies are rich, they can afford to pay workers more, they just don't want to cause they are greedy!"

Emotions vs brains. That's why you have dems proposing guaranteed incomes for all, free jobs, free healthcare, free everything (that will cost the country trillions and bankrupt us for generations), yet sheep thinking emotionally think it makes great sense.

Of course, nobody (the unwashed masses) should be worried about automation...since if you're a member of CONgre$$...you'll continue to get your paycheck anyway...perhaps we should automate CONgre$$ and likely to get smarter, smoother, more $ensible legislation passed, anyway...just a thought, of course.

Miss OC is proof that 18 is too young to vote and if anything the age should be raised to 21, not 16? I guess they feel that many minorities will have felonies by 18 and lowering the age will increase voters, but in that regard they should go for 13 years of age just to be safe.

Sort of reminds me when Obamacare became law forcing businesses who had 50 employees to pay healthcare costs. What did a lot of those businesses do? They either cut down to be under 50 or didn't add on to stay under 50. This is what businesses do.

To say automation has no relationship to $15 min wage laws is ridiculous. Now everybody can't do that of course, but for some it is an incentive, just as cutting jobs or hours is a reaction to a $15 min wage. Maybe some should talk to real life small business owners and ask them the effect of a $15 min wage. But what would they know. They only run the business.

What is rich is the fact that the very restaurant that AOC once worked in had to close because they couldn't afford the $15 min wage. Until those employees got a new job, they make 0 dollars an hour.
