1) He's very even-keeled
2) He's thoughtful on how to deal with the media. He's not overly political. He's pretty honest
3) He didn't overblow the win that much. He acknowledged there's a lot to do and that Ole Miss "should" come in and beat us. You can tell when a coach is trying to "sell it" to the point where it seems superficial. He didn't.
4) He acknowledged Taylor's running, a good sign
5) He's got a good sense of humor, very human being like, which you don't often hear
6) He clearly understands the Xs and Os of the game and game management. While I didn't agree with some of the calls yesterday (i.e. passing so much on first down in the second half prior to the rally), he was able to clearly explain his opinion and what happened in key situations. There was no bs
7) He understands that losing to UT, even in games they should win, is not acceptable. We'll see if this continues against UGA (the Dawgs will likely be favored).
8) He definitely seems player friendly, but has proven to have a stern side when needed.
9) He acknowledged "the Gators", the fans, past Gators and the University and what it means to coach there. He knows what is expected and that consistent 7-5 seasons won't cut it.

There's a lot to do and I admit, pulling the game out perhaps is clouding my judgment a bit, but I think we have a shot to win with this guy. It's unlikely to happen this year, and year two is usually the one you expect to start making noise. We'll see.

Yesterday was the first (of hopefully several) definitive wins in his tenure, one that should pay big dividends in recruiting too. It was the big program momentum builder, the shot in the arm we desperately needed, one that could derail UT further. Had we been on the other side, the loss would have been unforgiveable.
