Mine was scared to death of guns when we met and now she really enjoys range shooting. She isn't a bad shot...now if I could get her to load her own magazines, haha.
Bama, when we got married way back in 1974, one of the first things I did was to teach her how to disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble my Walther P-38. Then I taught her how to load the mag, and how to shoot it accurately.
I put an old Styrofoam wig head out about 30 feet away and told her to load and fire.
She immediately put 5 9MM's into the head. I took a good look and then I took the gun back from her, telling her she'd had enough practice for now. 😯
(I thought that I might need some time to run if things ever got sticky between us, but with good planning, foresight, and loyalty by me, they never have) 😁
My whole family (Men & Women) for generations have been hunters and fishers, and since my wife grew up on a rural farm with a father in the Army National Guard, she was never scared of guns.
There is no one in this world that I'd trust more to have my back in a bad situation that my well armed (till death does us part and beyond) wife. 😎
