You realize it's a brilliant strategy, right? The more issues you involve yourself in, the greater the number of people you might find supporting you.
The Repunlican party has podge on holed itself into a party of guns, God, and small government (which is a farce). It's no wonder they don't appeal to such a large portion of the country now that many people are more concerned with their own personal interests and "causes" than the national good.
