"...Richard LeCounte was struck by two cars while driving his motorcycle in an accident that occurred Saturday night in the hours after the Bulldogs had returned from their game in Kentucky. "

“He’s lucky to be alive,” said Erika Blocker-LeCounte, Richard’s mother. “He was wearing his helmet and (that) saved his life.”

LeCounte is in stable condition.

Ron Courson, UGA’s director of Sports Medicine, said in a statement Sunday that LeCounte would remain at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital “for further medical care. His injuries are not life-threatening and a full recovery is expected.”

Glad to see he will be OK, he had some great luck considering the situation !

It’s unlikely, however, that he will be able to play football for a while. LeCounte suffered a shoulder injury, bruised ribs and several cuts and scrapes. However, he did not suffer any broken bones and has not required surgery.

LeCounte is arguably Georgia’s best defensive player. He had a career-high 13 tackles and a fumble recovery in No. 5 Georgia’s 14-3 win over Kentucky in Lexington Saturday afternoon. For the season, he’s third on the team with 26 tackles and leads the Bulldogs with three interceptions.

Good luck to LeCount with his injuries.

Rather beat you dawgs at full strength !

Gwinnett,

Thanks for the update. Hope LeCount bounces back shortly.

Think you were the one who posted that Several other Dawgs on your Defense were injured against Kentucky -

"Two Georgia Bulldogs will reportedly miss Saturday's rivalry game and extended time due to injuries.

Dawgs247 has confirmed that junior nose tackle Jordan Davis will miss multiple weeks with an elbow injury while fifth-year senior Julian Rochester is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Both suffered those injuries in the 14-3 win over Kentucky.

Junior inside linebacker Quay Walker and sophomore safety Lewis Cine also went down in the Kentucky game.

Early indications are that Walker is likely to miss the Florida game while Cine, who was able to practice some on Sunday night, has a chance to play.

Dawgs247 has also learned that fifth-year senior right guard Ben Cleveland, who left the Kentucky game with some neck/back stiffness, has improved substantially over the past 48 hours and is on track to play in Jacksonville."

Want to beat you & as SOS used to say - put a fifty spot on you - but when you are at full strength; not all banged up !

Except for Rochester, Davis and LeCounte I think we will be full strength. The depth behind LeCounte is very good with several options. Rochester and Davis were mainly run stoppers, not passing down linemen. In other words, no excuses here.

Like Gwinnett said, Chris Smith is next man up. I'm afraid we've seen LeCounte suit up the last time for the Dawgs... and good chance big Jordan Davis as well. It sucks for sure. You never want to see these kids get hurt... any kids... for any team imo.

Have a bad feeling Pitts is going to light our D up.
Him and Toney are going to provide porblems but I don’t know if our defense will be good enough. If UGA starts converting a bunch of 3rd downs and keeps the ball out of our offenses hands then UF is toast. If the the opposite happens then UF has a real good chance to win.

We need to jump up early. Last few years we started slow and played from behind all game. Put a little pressure on that offense, and see what happens. I think if they have to force anything, it will result in turnovers. If they can stay in their shell and run the ball, we will have a hard time.

As of today, Lewis Cine apparently will be available after injuring his left ankle at Kentucky last Saturday night. Other players can also be expected to receive some opportunities. “Between Major (Burns), (Latavious) Brini and Tyrique (Stevenson), they have all practiced at safety. Noseguard Jordan Davis isn't completely ruled out but will be limited with a injured elbow.

Agreed. The team that rushes for the most yards in JAX has won the last 14 games I believe.

Hit by two cars?! Geez! Sounds like the kid’s lucky he wasn’t hurt worse! I definitely hope he makes a full recovery. The guy has a legit future if he can get back to 100% and I think we all hope gets there.
