Anyone actually hear why he didnt play against LSU? Heard he was begging Mullen to let him play at half time. If he did have some kind of injury at least use him as a decoy cause he looked pretty sporty standing on the sideline.

"Saving him for the Conference Championship game". Bad move. Really bad move. The consensus opinion on the staff was that the SEC Champ goes to the playoffs no matter what. SMH.

I dont understand that line of thinking.... Lsu is in town... Bring the big guns if they are available. If true, this is a blunder by Mullen.
Not after laying an egg at home to a 3-5 team with only 54 players. Not to mention a 24 point underdog.
Yep. A 1 loss Bama gets in over you guys. Unless you curb stomp them, which I think we can all agree will not happen.
At minimum, it is supported by the broadcasters who said Mullen told them that UF is in the playoffs if they win the SEC. Hr said we would get in by being SEC Champion.
I hope he’s right, but I think that the staff are the only ones who feel comfortable about that.
I don’t see why you don’t at least dress him, put him in on a few redzone plays where he can at least distract the defense even if you have no intention to actually throw to him
I said from the beginning that if was for "precautionary" reasons that Pitts should be in at least on 3rd(or 4th) down plays and majority of the redzone plays.
Two totally different sports but this reminds me of dumb baseball coaches saving the ace for the championship game but fail to make the championship game because they didnt worry about the current game. Note Im not talkinh about the SEC Champ game but the bigger picture. Football unlike a baseball pitching is not limited. The "he could get hurt" crap is dumb. In football(or any sport) he could get hurt first play of thr game. Wasted talent.

Thats taking a huge gamble tho. UF will fall out of the top 10 with this loss.... Im not sure a win over bama jumps to the top 4. Imo it shouldnt. You cant have 2 losses with one being to a 3 win team. As i said, if he wasnt hurt at all, huge blunder by Mullen.
Honestly, even if we curb stomp them, I don’t know that we get in. None of the other teams in contention have anything close to as bad as loss as we had. Even if we had tied it at the end and won in OT, I think this game would be used against us on a playoff resume. I assume we were looking ahead and thought this one was in the bag. Unless all the other teams in the top 10 have embarrassing losses this week I think that killed any chance we should have, realistically or not.
Play to win...why play Trask either...if this is true that's a terrible call. I don't know but we lost the game so it doesn't matter much now.
Truth is our defense has not been good all year. It caught up to us just like it did again Texas A&M. Being where we've come from 3 years ago...it's been a great 3 years IMO. Coaches have done a miracle with this program...if you can't agree with that then you don't remember how bad it was or didn't know. The future is really bright...we're right there.
