Something I am sure you are very proud of?Little known fact: from 2001-2013 FSU was ranked in the preseason AP Top 5 a grand total of 2 times. Two.

What about the top ten and still being picked by everyone on TV TO DO IT THIS TIME.. It's certainly been a thing for years and years, and it still is.
Florida won titles and didn't play wake 8 times a year
Refresh my memory. What big time recruit did Smart pull in the 2016 recruiting class that wasn't already either committed to UGA or a heavy lean to UGA when Richt was fired? I know the answer but I get the feeling many don't really follow recruiting that closely especially the recruiting of other programs.
So FSU was highly ranked in the preseason for 8 years and they play Wake 8 times a year? You're a fan of hyperbole, huh?
You clearly don't pay attention to roster or recruiting if you have to ask that question.Bless your little heart, what does this have to do with Kirby Smart?
It might pain you to admit (and I suspect from your posting style that you won't), but any sane rational fan of any school in the country would take Jimbo's production right now. I don't care how he got there, only that he got there. Jimbo is an elite judge of talent and recruiter and as long as he is at FSU, FSU is going to be competing for titles. He took a program that was in terrible shape and won a title in his 4th season. An added bonus, he held the Gators new coach on the ground and made him eat boogers....get used to it, bc until your coach puts down the donuts, gets off the couch and hits the recruiting trail, that is going to continue to happen.I love how FSU fans use winning one championship to offset all the years of wasted talent at schools like FSU and UGA. Instead of admitting what everyone knows, every season FSU was ranked highly pre season everyone literally laughed for over 8 years for a reason.. "This is FSU YEAR MAN".
and hey sport, most coaches spot elite talent pretty well, they just don't get them
You do realize Meyer has 3 national titles and is one of the GOAT college coaches right? The only active coach even close to as good or better than Meyer is Saban.Jimbo spots them and gets them...
and if it is so easy to find them and pick them, why did Urban toss Werner aside to pick up Powell?

I will repeat. So now you are bragging about being shitty? Not really anything for me to be proud or ashamed of. I'm just stating facts. Whenever people talk about how FSU was highly ranked "every year" and disappointed I can only assume they're talking about 2002 and 2004. Apparently "every year" means those 2 years.
Well...thank you for proving my point I was trying to make to numbers. You do realize Meyer has 3 national titles and is one of the GOAT college coaches right? The only active coach even close to as good or better than Meyer is Saban.
Yes, and the same thing you accuse Jimbo of...needing to win with a once in a lifetime QB and overwhelming talent is pretty much the story of Urban Meyer at Florida. Look at the OSU players drafted this year and tell me that Urban does more with less or some other silly such thing. It is a shocking that that OSU didn't beat everyone on its schedule by 50 points.Urban obviously has never had problems getting who he wants, guy.
He even had to swoop in and land our best QB ever and one of the greatest ever from the coach I played for in the end... and it's a good thing he did... because whatever he sold him on, couldn't have POSSIBLY been as great as it ended up for him and his favorite school growing up.. and believe me when I say this, Tebow was very close to going to Bama with Shula for various reasons.
Take it up with your fellow poster who has taken the opportunity to make every one of his posts in a Kirby thread about FSU and Jimbo. If you guys don't want Jimbo and FSU posts, don't mention them.I will repeat. What has this got to do with Kirby Smart?
That 2006 UF team was one of the best coaching jobs I have ever seen in my life. Meyer won that national title with mostly guys that Zook recruited. Meyer has won with his guys and he's won with other people's guy. Leak was a good QB but he certainly wasn't once in a lifetime. Didn't Meyer also win a national title with his 3rd string QB?Yes, and the same thing you accuse Jimbo of...needing to win with a once in a lifetime QB and overwhelming talent is pretty much the story of Urban Meyer at Florida. Urban wins 2006 with overwhelming talent, a once in a lifetime QB (Tebow) pulling Leak's *** out of the fire and a once every couple of decades offensive player in Percy Harvin. That 2006 UF team was one of the best coaching jobs I have ever seen in my life. What overwhelming talent on that 2006 team? Not many players on that 2006 UF team had long NFL careers. To this day that 2006 year was one of the best coaching jobs I have ever seen. Tebow and Harvin were true freshmen and Leak was the starting QB. Tebow came in on situational plays. He didn't throw the ball much in 2006. Did Tebow contribute? Yes but don't make it sound like he was the reason UF won a national title. Meyer is one of the GOAT college coaches. It is what it is.Urban wins 2006 with overwhelming talent, a once in a lifetime QB (Tebow) pulling Leak's *** out of the fire and a once every couple of decades offensive player in Percy Harvin.
Urban is a better recruiter. Spurrier is UFs best coach. Spurrier was more consistent. Outside of the two championships, Urbans teams were very beatable. They still are. No way they should have lost a game in 2015. That OSU team is one of the most talented college teams in memory, in terms of NFL talent.
That "3rd string" QB btw will be on some team's NFL roster this fall
Outside of the two championships, Urbans teams were very beatable.
Urban obviously has never had problems getting who he wants, guy.
I was working for a paper in Jacksonville when Tebow was a senior at Nease and got to interview Tebow after he spoke to the Jacksonville Rotary Club. His speech was two days after 'Bama just pasted UF in Meyer's first year, and the thought at the time was that 'Bama was actually leading for him. During our interview, he got a text from Meyer reading something like: "I wouldn't be recruiting you so hard if I didn't need you. SEC Champs, Heisman, National Champs, it's all there for us at UF." The guy is just a great salesman.
And your point is what exactly? UF doesn't win the 2006 national championship without Chris Leak either. You know the Leak that actually was the starting QB that year. It also doesn't change the fact that both Harvin and Tebow were also just true freshmen in 2006 as well.Lots of unsubstantiated gibberish about length of NFL careers aside....I will ask the question again. Does Urban Meyer win a MNC in 2006 without Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin?
LOL!! Yes Jimbo losses to inferior teams all the time. GT this year was a horrendous loss. I'm sure Houston had much more talent than FSU as well.Other than that Mrs. Kennedy, how was your trip to Dallas?
Oh...and other than the one year where Jameson was surrounded by stellar talent, Jimbo's team were and are very beatable. Just ask Ga Tech, NC State, WF and a host of other teams

If I have to choose between Smart with a stacked roster and Mac with middle of the SEC pack roster, that's not a hard choice to make.
LOL. Really? Talk about homerism at its best. Meyer is a much better coach than Fisher. Meyer has 3 national championships at 2 different programs. He took a non power school to a BCS game while at Utah. Hilarious that your trying to compare Meyer and Fisher. There is no comparison.Read more...post less. This is precisely the point I was making. Jimbo gets denigrated repeatedly on this site for being a recruiter and an average game day guy. Guess what! So is Urban. Who cares? No one really should, b/c any team in the country would take the production, except for bitter UF and perhaps Mich fans who don't want to admit their primary rival has a great coach.
Bingo! You are right! We just won the East with a middle of the pack roster!... and without a QB!
sadgator'll put his money on Mac.
So now you are bragging about being shitty?
I think it's fair and as Bilas said, restricting transfers is the same as a non-compete out in the real world so if that is what they are doing then the players should get paid. That was one of the thing I always liked about Spurrier. He always let players transfer wherever they wanted. Even to programs Florida played every year.
Hilarious that your trying to compare Meyer and Fisher. There is no comparison.

Again that 2006 season was one of the best coaching jobs I have ever seen.
You can keep spinning it however you want but Meyer has won 3 national titles with 3 different QBs. I would say 3 QBs with all different styles of play. The fact that he has won 3 national titles is all that really needs to be said. Not many coaches have won 3 national titles, especially in such a short time span.
