Keys to a Florida win

I think confidence and momentum is a very powerful thing to possess when traveling into a hostile environment. I think this past weekend was a good test for our young team to play Tenn at night with 110,000 fans getting crazy with expectations that the volunteers would win that game. Florida showed up in a big way particularly the defense. Secondary is still a working progress with so many young guys thrown into the mix early on but our defensive line and linebackers were flying all over the field. Having Reese back was a huge boost to the defensive moral. The biggest key to this game imo is if Florida can contain miss states run game. Kentucky was able to completely shut down Fitzgerald and the run game and force them into a passing game which is not their forte. Keeping them in 3 and 6+ will be key. We have to maintain gap control and maintain the edge in order to not allow Fitzgerald to scramble for bulk yards. I think having Reese in this game will help with assignment discipline to keep Fitzgerald in the backfield. Mullen will know his tendencies/weaknesses as he taught him how to play the position. Fitzgerald will know this but Mullen will have some curve balls for him. Our defense played a lot better than the stat sheet would suggest against Kentucky but with 20 plus missed tackles and poor QB containment at times, we allowed them to convert big third downs and huge plays. I believe we have improved significantly on tackling. Franks has to continue to manage the offense, make some plays when they are there and not force any balls into tight coverage. Offensive line has been playing a lot more physical the past few games and they will need to continue. Running game has to be established early in order to take some heat off of franks. A part of me wants to believe that Mullen has not opened up the playbook just yet. He didn't have a reason to open it up against Colorado State or Tennessee. I think he prepped the offense for more plays believing the Tenn game would have been closer. All in all, I think we come out of Starkville with a couple cowbells and a WIN. 30-17. Go Gators!

Unlike the teams we have played so far except KY a little MSU gets a pass rush with 4 D linemen. We have to be able to run good on them to win.

WE,,, ain't doing chit but yappin' about it, both before and after the game.
They have things to do, not WE....

"Have to run the ball'
is not true at all. They will need to take advantage of whatever the MsSt defense is giving them. If they put 8-9 in the box all night, then you have to take advantage of that with the passing game. Once they drop back into pass coverage, then you need to be able to take advantage of that with the run game. This is not new btw...

I think that passing game is the weakest link for both teams. Therefore, I think that both DC's will go for stopping the run and depend on forcing the other teams QB to pass effectively, and/or be able to scramble to break down the defense. We'll see...o_O

Either way, the ST in both directions has to perform at a high level. K-O coverage and K-O returns, punt coverage, and punt returns. And the T-O margin is always very important.

Your faux intellectualism is some of the worst I've ever seen.

You know why it would be nice to be able to run the ball on them? Because they just got ran over by Kentucky.

Also, being one-dimensional doesn't help. So if they put 8-9 in the box, we'll probably pass. And then, when that opens up, we'll try to run.

Why am I explaining this to you? Obviously you know this. You've been following football for half-a century.

While watching the dunnygoater and the GhostOfBrainless kissing is pretty funny to me...

ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

Okay.

If you aren't a closeted old homosexual, the only other option I can think of is that you think constantly referring to people as being gay together is an insult, and that you've really gotten one on us.

Because our reaction is supposed to be "Hey here Nancy! I don't take too kindly to that! I'm as straight as an arrow! I don't dip my oil stick in nothin but pussy boy I tell ya! Grrrr you got me all riled up now mister!"

Well. See, the problem with that is, that's not how it goes.

In fact, it's such a lame, outdated insult, that nobody cares, if you ARE offended by it, you're obviously very insecure that some weirdo on the internet said you like to play with other men, but more importantly, it just makes you look weird and gross and raises questions about just how much you like sticking your face directly into a mans anus.

Now please, go on.
