Keyonte Johnson collapsed on the court, on his way to recovery

🙏🙏 Prayers for your player!

A scary scene, sorry for him as I'm certain this game mattered to him. Though injuries are a part of the game (unfortunately), should the Noles go on and win, I'd put an asterisk next to that one. Hate to that occur to such a talent.

This isn’t right. I agree. I had no idea we were playing each other today but the game should have been canceled after something like that.
Should of canceled the game and rescheduled for another time. The schools are like 2 hours apart. I’m sure they could find another time to play the game, especially since we were only 4-5 minutes into the game as it was.

They didn't show what happened on TV. The announcers just said that he collapsed on the court after coming out of a timeout. FSU had called timeout after a Johnson dunk putting Florida up 11-3. Gator players crying, obviously in shock. Horrible. Hope the kid is OK. Man!

I'm told that when Ham walked out to the court, after White talked to his players, Ham asked if White wanted to cancel. I understand that the Gators players wanted to continue and White agreed. Probably what KJ would want, very selfless and courageous. Classy.

I hope that kid is alright.

I would like to know what in the world happened to him. It is odd for a young man to collapse like he did. Does he have a family history of cardiac issues? That could start to explain what happened. Best wishes to him and Go 'Noles.

I hope he is ok...could this year get any more bizarre?
I guess a positive is it happened at an event that had emergency personnel right there and not in his apartment with no one to help.

Ham offered to stop the game but Gators wanted to play. I personally dont think you should stop gor injury no matter how severe. People get carted off in football all the time. Players have broken their neccks before. Any update on him? Hope hes ok
Not apples to apples comparison IMO. Players were visibly upset and emotional. This isn’t like a football game where 80+ people hop on a plan and likely leave the state with tons of fans in the stands, etc. They just hop on a bus for a trip like this. That certainly plays a bit of a factor when it comes to making a decision like that.
This was 5 minutes into the game and a game that could have easily been rescheduled due to the close proximity of the schools and the ability to play 2-3 bball games in a week if necessary. IMO White should have overruled his players. Not to mention 2020 in general hasn’t exactly been a “normal” year so I’m sure everybody would have been understanding.

Sometime after scoring off an alley oop vs FSU. No further details but hopefully we'll find out soon. Prayers needed.
Should’ve called it a day given this F’d up year were in, what does one game truly mean when one of your brothers goes down like that. Just scary. People often give the prayer line as it’s what your supposed to say but, given the Critical but, stable condition, I am saying one for K.J. Life is to short my fellow Gators. A girl I met at a conference back in 2002 had both of her parents in the hospital with COVID-19. When they got to the point they weren’t going to make it they put them in a room together where they held hands until her mother passed away first and then the Dad an hour later. I can’t even imagine that.

Regardless of who ended up winning, I would have personally put an asterisk on this game. This game could have been rescheduled anytime during the season.
With the players being so emotional on both sides, I was shocked UF decided to continue.

I don’t think you leave a decision like this up to the players. The fact the question even needed to be asked between the coaches should have already indicated the appropriate answer. This wasn’t a tournament or championship game. This was a glorified exhibition game.

Just so you are aware Keyonte had Covid over the summer. There are some rumors that what happened today could have been the aftermath from that. Hopefully he will be ok

I didnt know that. Hopefully not. Man i hope hes ok. I saw video footgae of it from someone at the game, kind of scary

This is correct. I hope it is just UF stepping up to the plate and helping out rather than a bad sign.
I’m seriously praying for this dude. The older I’ve gotten and the older my sons get the more sensitive I am becoming to this kind of stuff. I’ve seen and smelled plenty of death but nothing would break me more than losing a child.
